Ohio State has added 17 scholarship transfers to its 2026 roster: Former Ohio tight end Mason Williams, UCF long snapper Dalton Riggs and defensive tackle John Walker, UTSA wide receiver Devin McCuin, Wisconsin linebacker Christian Alliegro, Florida State safety Earl Little Jr., Duke safety Terry Moore, Northwestern tight end Hunter Welcing, Maryland quarterback Justyn Martin, Alabama defensive end Qua Russaw, defensive tackle James Smith and cornerback Cam Calhoun, Florida running back Ja’Kobi Jackson, Georgia cornerback Dominick Kelly, LSU wide receiver Kyle Parker, Baylor kicker Connor Hawkins and Dartmouth offensive lineman Vasean Washington. The Buckeyes also added a walk-on punter, Brady Young, from Houston Christian.

On the other end of the spectrum, 31 scholarship players from Ohio State entered the transfer portal. The most notable names to enter the portal include last year’s starting right guard Tegra Tshabola and four former five-star recruits: wide receivers Quincy Porter and Mylan Graham, cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. and defensive end C.J. Buckeyes Add Dartmouth Offensive Lineman

Ohio State bolsters its offensive line depth by adding former Dartmouth offensive lineman Vasean Washington. A native of Springfield, Ohio, Washington was Dartmouth’s starting right tackle in 2025 – allowing zero sacks in eight games – while he also played guard for the Big Green.

Miller, who saw no playing time in his lone season as a Buckeye and brings four years of eligibility to Washington, becomes the ninth member of Ohio State’s 2025 roster to transfer to a Big Ten school for 2026. He’s the second member of the 2025 Buckeyes to transfer to Washington, joining defensive end Logan George.
Dominic Kirks Transfers to Northwestern

Washington was Dartmouth’s starting right tackle for eight games last season, receiving an overall grade of 58.6 for his play from Pro Football Focus. A fifth-year senior with one remaining season of eligibility, Washington projects as a potential depth addition for Ohio State, which has not yet added any transfer offensive linemen for 2026.

Noland is now on his third college football team in three years after one year at Ohio State and one year at South Carolina. He appeared in just two games for the Gamecocks last season, completing two of three passing attempts for 13 yards and running one time for four yards.
He’s one of two transfer additions at quarterback for Memphis this offseason along with West Florida transfer Marcus Stokes. Stokes is the Tigers’ projected starter, as he was a finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy last season as one of the top eight players in Division II.
Scott Visiting Oregon and Tennessee
Former Ohio State cornerback Aaron Scott Jr. will visit Oregon on Thursday and Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, according to 247Sports’ Tom Loy.

Scott previously visited Wisconsin – which also landed a commitment from fellow Ohio State transfer cornerback Bryce West – and told 247Sports last week that he was also interested in LSU.
Hartford Transferring to UCLA

Ohio State Interested in Former Kennesaw State Receiver
With Carnell Tate headed to the NFL and Bryson Rodgers (USF), Quincy Porter (Notre Dame) and Mylan Graham (Notre Dame) at new schools, Ohio State has looked to bolster its wide receiver depth behind Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss this offseason.

Moss started his career at Virginia Tech in 2022, missed all of the 2023 season and spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons at Kennesaw State. The 6-foot-3, 199-pound Moss has 65 catches for 963 yards and four touchdowns in his career, including 45 receptions for 689 yards and two scores this past season.
Francis Brewu Commits to Notre Dame

While Brewu is a native of Central Ohio, he was no longer expected to be a Buckeye after Monday’s commitment from former Alabama defensive tackle James Smith. Ohio State is not expected to add any more transfer defensive tackles after landing Smith and UCF transfer John Walker.

“It was my first time in Columbus touring the facility but was really impressed with everything,” Welcing said. “The staff was awesome and I really liked coach Bailey and Day.”
Eric Mensah Commits to Virginia Tech
Former Ohio State defensive tackle Eric Mensah has committed to James Franklin and the Virginia Tech Hokies after entering the transfer portal this offseason.

Mensah is a native of Stafford, Virginia, who had previously committed to Virginia Tech in high school before ultimately flipping to the Buckeyes. The redshirt sophomore appeared in just one game this past season against Grambling State, in which he recorded two assisted tackles.

Ohio State lands its likely replacement for Caleb Downs as Florida State transfer safety Earl Little Jr., a second-team All-ACC honoree in 2025, commits to the Buckeyes.
Dallan Hayden Transfers to Memphis
Former Ohio State running back Dallan Hayden, who spent the last two years at Colorado after transferring out of Ohio State in 2024, is transferring to Memphis for his final season of college football.

Hayden, who spent two years at Ohio State before transferring to Colorado, ran for 522 yards and two touchdowns on 134 carries in two years with the Buffaloes.
Bodpegn Miller Visits Northwestern
Former Ohio State wide receiver Bodpegn Miller is visiting Northwestern on Sunday, a source told Eleven Warriors.
Maxwell Roy Commits to UCLA

Former Ohio State defensive tackle Maxwell Roy committed to UCLA out of the transfer portal, bringing four years of eligibility to the West Coast.
Sahir West Commits to UCLA
Ohio State hoped to land former James Madison defensive end Sahir West to fill its need for an edge rusher after Chaz Coleman signed with Tennessee, but the Buckeyes missed out on West as well as he chose to follow his former coach Bob Chesney to UCLA.
Ohio State’s top defensive end target now appears to be former Alabama edge rusher Qua Russaw, who visited Thursday alongside fellow Alabama transfer James Smith, a defensive tackle. The Buckeyes have also been loosely connected to Missouri transfer Damon Wilson and Florida State transfers Mandrell and Darryll Desir, though none of them have visited Ohio State yet.
Francis Brewu Visits Ohio State
After visiting Ohio State on Saturday, former Pittsburgh defensive tackle Francis Brewu shared a picture of himself and his parents with Ohio State coach Ryan Day on social media.

Brewu, who 247Sports ranks as the sixth-best interior defensive lineman in the transfer portal, also visited Tennessee and Notre Dame before making his visit to Ohio State. The Buckeyes are looking to add a second defensive tackle to their transfer haul, also hosting former Alabama defensive tackle James Smith on Thursday, after landing a commitment from UCF DT John Walker on Tuesday.
Rasheem Biles Transfers to Texas
After Ohio State beat out Texas to land former Wisconsin linebacker Christian Alliegro, the Longhorns countered by securing a commitment from former Pittsburgh linebacker Rasheem Biles, a Columbus native.

While it was reported that Biles would visit Ohio State shortly after the transfer portal opened on Jan. 2, the Buckeyes never ended up hosting him. Instead, Ohio State focused its transfer linebacker recruiting efforts on Alliegro, ultimately earning his commitment. That said, the Buckeyes will have to face Biles in their second game of 2026 when they play Texas in Austin on Sept. 12.

A four-star quarterback in the 2022 recruiting class, Martin has just one career start, completing 22 of 30 passing attempts for 167 yards and a touchdown for UCLA in a 2024 loss to Penn State. He’s the second quarterback to schedule a visit to Ohio State this week, joining former Colorado quarterback Ryan Staub.
Martin, who had zero passing attempts last season at Maryland, told On3’s Greg Biggins that he’s also planning to visit Memphis.

A three-star recruit who originally signed with Oklahoma State before going on a two-year Mormon mission, Kema appeared in four games for 31 total snaps as a backup center in his lone season as a Buckeye. He’s the second Ohio State offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal for 2026, joining Devontae Armstrong.

While Ohio State didn’t pursue transfer wide receivers with Brian Hartline coaching the group, that could change under new wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton, as the Buckeyes will reportedly host Texas transfer DeAndre Moore Jr. for a visit after he visits Kentucky, per reports from On3 and 247Sports.
Moore played primarily in the slot for Texas, where he caught 77 passes for 988 yards and 11 touchdowns over the past two seasons.

Lockett recorded 13 tackles with three tackles for loss, two pass breakups and one sack in 2025 before suffering a season-ending injury. He’d bring one year of eligibility to the Buckeyes.

USC defensive tackle Devan Thompkins, who’s ranked as the No. 2 defensive lineman in the transfer portal by 247Sports, told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that Ohio State is one of five schools standing out to him as a potential transfer destination along with Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia.

Thompkins, a fifth-year senior defensive tackle with one remaining season of eligibility, recorded 31 tackles with 6.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two pass breakups and one forced fumble for USC in 2025.

A native of Dayton, Ohio, O’Berry was productive at the FCS level, recording 52 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and seven pass breakups in 2025.
Ohio State is also pursuing former Penn State defensive end Chaz Coleman, who’s believed to be the Buckeyes’ top target as the transfer portal opens.
