A four-star prospect in the recruiting class of 2025, McFadden was ranked as the No. 391 overall player and No. 24 interior offensive lineman by the 247Sports composite. He made one appearance on the Buckeyes' offensive line vs. Grambling State, in which he played 15 snaps. There was no clear path to playing time for him in 2026.
With starting right guard Tegra Tshabola having entered the transfer portal on Sunday, Ohio State returns starting left guard Luke Montgomery and right guards Joshua Padilla and Gabe VanSickle, who rotated with Tshabola at various points in 2025, as potential starters for its 2026 campaign. The Buckeyes might also look for upgrades in the portal after the unit struggled in their final two games of the season.
