Ohio State has begun the process of rebuilding its wide receiver room.

After losing Carnell Tate to the NFL draft and Quincy Porter, Mylan Graham and Bryson Rodgers to the transfer portal, Ohio State added a veteran wideout from the transfer portal on Wednesday as former UTSA wide receiver Devin McCuin committed to the Buckeyes.

A 6-foot, 195-pound receiver, McCuin has caught 152 passes for 1,696 yards and 16 touchdowns across three seasons with the Roadrunners, including 65 receptions for 726 yards and eight touchdowns in 2025. He’ll bring a jolt of speed to Ohio State’s wide receiver room, as he was timed at 4.37 seconds in the 40-yard dash and 10.28 seconds in the 100-meter dash in high school.

The McCuin File

  • Year: Senior
  • Size: 6-0/195
  • Pos: WR
  • Previous School: UTSA (2023-25)
  • 2025 Stats: 65 catches, 726 yards, 8 TD

McCuin will bring one year of collegiate eligibility to Ohio State.

He’s Ohio State’s fourth transfer addition for 2026, joining former UCF defensive tackle John Walker, Ohio tight end Mason Williams and UCF long snapper Dalton Riggs.

McCuin will be a candidate to fill the vacant starting spot in Ohio State’s receiver lineup alongside returning starters Jeremiah Smith and Brandon Inniss, though incoming freshman Chris Henry Jr. will also be a contender for that spot. And McCuin could be just the first of multiple transfer additions at wide receiver, as the Buckeyes hosted former Texas receiver Deandre Moore Jr. on a visit over the weekend.
