Former Duke safety Terry Moore, a second-team All-ACC honoree in 2024, commits to Ohio State.
Jelani Thurman will continue his college football career playing for Bill Belichick.
Thurman committed to North Carolina on Sunday. The former Ohio State tight end has two years of eligibility remaining to use in Chapel Hill.
A four-star recruit and the No. 111 overall prospect in the 2023 class, Thurman entered the transfer portal immediately after Ohio State's loss to Miami in the Cotton Bowl.
In three seasons with the Buckeyes, Thurman caught 13 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. He recorded eight receptions for 84 yards and one score during the 2025 season.
Thurman’s departure has left Ohio State’s tight end depth with question marks this offseason. As Max Klare weighs an NFL draft decision, the Buckeyes expect redshirt junior Bennett Christian, redshirt sophomore Max LeBlanc, sophomore Nate Roberts and redshirt freshman Brody Lennon to return in 2026. Ohio State also added Ohio transfer Mason Williams, a redshirt junior, and 2026 three-star Nick Lautar to the room, and hosted former Northwestern tight end Hunter Welcing on a visit last week.
