Roy will bring four years of eligibility to the Bruins next season. A four-star prospect out of St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia, Roy was the No. 357 overall prospect and No. 36 defensive lineman in the 247Sports composite rankings for the recruiting class of 2025. He didn't play any defensive snaps for the Buckeyes in his lone season wearing scarlet and gray.
Roy is one of three Ohio State defensive tackles to have entered the transfer portal, joining classmate Jarquez Carter and rising redshirt sophomore Eric Mensah. Both of the Buckeyes' starting defensive tackles from 2025 depart as well, with Kayden McDonald declaring for the NFL draft as a projected first-round pick and Tywone Malone Jr. out of eligibility.
Ohio State has added four-star John Walker (UCF) back from the transfer portal at the defensive tackle position, and could look for more transfers to fill out the interior of its defensive line. Junior Eddrick Houston and redshirt junior Will Smith Jr. are expected to return in 2026 after playing rotational roles this past season as well.
