With Jayden Fielding graduating, Courville’s decision to enter the portal on Jan. 2 left Ohio State without a kicker on its roster. Ten days later, as Courville commits to Tulane, the Buckeyes have yet to announce a transfer addition or high school pledge to handle kickoffs, field goals and point-after attempts in 2026.
According to On3, some of the top kickers still available in the transfer portal include Jack Olsen (formerly at Northwestern), Gabe Panikowski (Oklahoma State) and Chase Meyer (Cal). Olsen and Meyer bring the most experience of the trio: Olsen has connected on 40 of 51 career field goals with a long of 47 yards, while Meyer has made 27 of 33 field goals with a long of 47.
Ohio State has also offered uncommitted class of 2026 kicker Jacobo Eccheveria. The Pittsburgh native is coming off a standout senior season at Upper St. Clairsville, where he made 12 of 13 field goal attempts with a long of 41 yards. He also went 46 of 48 on point-after attempts, with both misses being blocks, and recorded touchbacks on 60 of 70 kickoffs.
