For the second time in two years, Sam Dixon will enter the transfer portal.

Dixon announced his intention to pursue a new opportunity with three years of eligibility remaining. The Pickerington North product also entered the portal after the 2024 season before returning to Ohio State for 2025.

A three-star recruit in the 2024 class, Dixon opened his career as Ohio State’s RB4 behind TreVeyon Henderson, Quinshon Judkins and James Peoples. Despite Henderson and Judkins both declaring for the NFL draft after the Buckeyes' national championship run, Dixon slid to RB5 as a sophomore after freshman Bo Jackson emerged as Ohio State's starter, with West Virginia transfer CJ Donaldson, freshman Isaiah West and Peoples filling out the top four.

Dixon appeared in five games during his Buckeye career, rushing 10 times for 62 yards and one touchdown.
