Jayvon McFadden has gone from Maryland to the Mountain Time Zone in two years.
On Sunday, the former Buckeye offensive guard committed to Colorado from the transfer portal. He'll be a redshirt freshman with four years of eligibility remaining for the Buffaloes in 2026.

McFadden, a four-star prospect out of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, was considered the No. 391 overall prospect and No. 24 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 recruiting class by the 247Sports composite rankings. He made one appearance on the Buckeyes' offensive line vs. Grambling State, in which he played 15 snaps. There was no clear path to playing time for him in 2026.
Ohio State is set to return starting left guard Luke Montgomery, with Joshua Padilla, Gabe VanSickle and potentially Phillip Daniels, if he moves inside from tackle, expected to compete for the starting right guard spot. The Buckeyes have not added any transfer offensive linemen.
