The defensive end transfers continue rolling through for Ohio State.
Hours after C.J. Hicks announced he would enter the transfer portal, two more Buckeye backup edge rushers made it known they will be looking for new destinations to continue their college careers: Redshirt freshman Dominic Kirks and junior Logan George.

The ex-Idaho State transfer generated big-time buzz during the offseason but was limited to two games due to injury. Had 66 tackles and 18.5 tackles for loss last year at Idaho St. pic.twitter.com/ziXOutup8j
Kirks was a four-star prospect in the recruiting class of 2024, ranked No. 163 overall in the 247Sports composite and No. 24 among defensive linemen. Playing his high school ball in Painesville, Ohio, Kirks redshirted his freshman season and played just 17 defensive snaps in his second year with the Buckeyes.
George made waves at the FCS level with Idaho State before transferring to Ohio State before the 2025 season. He racked up 56 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks for the Bengals, but never made an impact for the Buckeyes after being surpassed by freshman Zion Grady on the depth chart. He played 19 total defensive snaps in 2025.
With senior Caden Curry having exhausted his eligibility, Ohio State is waiting on a decision from redshirt junior Kenyatta Jackson Jr. to see where it stands in terms of potential starting defensive ends for 2026. The Buckeyes have also been linked to Penn State's Chaz Coleman in the portal. Grady will be a candidate for increased playing time, if not a starting job, next year.
Even with the thinning of the room, there was no clear path to playing time for Kirks or George in 2026, prompting their transfer.
