Ohio State has added a transfer offensive lineman for the 2026 season.

Former Dartmouth offensive lineman Vasean Washington announced his commitment to Ohio State on Wednesday after visiting OSU on Friday.

A native of Springfield, Ohio, Washington is the Buckeyes’ first – and likely only – transfer addition on the offensive line for 2026.

Ohio State has now added at least one transfer to every position group on its roster for 2026.

Washington transfers to Ohio State for his fifth and final season of college football after four years at Dartmouth. Washington, who’s set to graduate from the Ivy League school in March, was the starting right tackle for the Big Green in 2025, allowing zero sacks in eight games. He also started three games at left guard and one game at left tackle in 2024.

As he makes the jump from the FCS level to the Big Ten, Washington is likely to be a backup for the Buckeyes. Given his experience playing both positions, Washington could provide depth at both tackle and guard for Ohio State.

The Washington File

  • Year: Fifth-Year Senior
  • Size: 6-5/295
  • Pos: OL
  • Previous Schools: Dartmouth (2022-25)
  • 2025 Stats: 8 starts at RT, 0 sacks and 18 pressures allowed, 58.9 PFF grade

Ohio State returns four starters on the offensive line from last season – left tackle Austin Siereveld, left guard Luke Montgomery, center Carson Hinzman and right tackle Phillip Daniels – while returning offensive tackle Ian Moore and guards Joshua Padilla and Gabe VanSickle are also candidates to compete for starting jobs in 2026.

Washington gives the Buckeyes another option to fill out the two-deep at either tackle or guard, joining a group of offensive linemen who will be competing for position on the depth chart that includes redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Deontae Armstrong, redshirt freshman offensive tackle Carter Lowe and guard/center Jake Cook and incoming freshmen Sam Greer and Maxwell Riley, among others.

The Buckeyes now have 16 scholarship offensive linemen on their roster for 2026. The Buckeyes are now at 90 scholarship players for 2026, so Washington will likely be Ohio State’s final transfer addition of the year.
