Damarion Witten's transfer portal journey isn't taking him too far from where his career started in Columbus.

On Friday, the former Ohio State wide receiver committed to Miami (Ohio), bringing three years of remaining eligibility with him to Oxford.

The move keeps the Cleveland native in his home state for at least another season. Witten is a product of the famed Ohio State pipeline, Glenville High School, but he never played an offensive snap in his two seasons with the Buckeyes.

Witten took a redshirt his freshman year after being a four-star prospect ranked No. 467 overall and No. 29 at tight end in 247Sports composite rankings for the recruiting class of 2024. He moved to receiver in his first season at Ohio State, however, and dropped 10 pounds to stand at a lean 6-foot-3, 205 pounds.

Ohio State is reloading through the transfer portal to complement Biletnikoff Award finalist Jeremiah Smith and fellow returning starter Brandon Inniss at wide receiver in 2026. The Buckeyes have picked up former UTSA wideout Devin McCuin and are pursuing other options, namely former LSU slot receiver Kyle Parker. Five-star freshman Chris Henry Jr. should also be a factor atop the depth chart.
