The No. 55 overall prospect in the 2025 class, Delane appeared poised to compete for a starting role alongside Jaylen McClain in 2026 after playing in all 14 games and logging 81 defensive snaps as a freshman. However, Delane decided to leave Ohio State after the Buckeyes added two veteran safeties from the transfer portal in Florida State’s Earl Little Jr. and Duke’s Terry Moore.
Delane was one of four Ohio State safeties to enter the transfer portal following the season, joining Malik Hartford, Keenan Nelson Jr. and Cody Haddad. Hartford is transferring to UCLA, while Nelson and Haddad are still searching for their next schools.
He is one of nine members of Ohio State's 2025 recruiting class to enter the portal after one year with the Buckeyes, joining wide receivers Quincy Porter and Bodpegn Miller; offensive linemen Jayvon McFadden and Isaiah Kema; defensive tackles Jarquez Carter, Maxwell Roy and Trajen Odom; and Haddad.
