One of Ohio State's main 2014 recruiting priorities is the offensive line, and a key target for them is Nassau Community College star Chad Mavety who holds offers from a who's who of the country's top programs, including Alabama, Florida State, Miami, Oklahoma and more. Mavety has told me repeatedly that he talks with the Buckeyes nearly every single day, and that he and Ohio State's OL coach, Ed Warinner get along great.
"Yeah, I talk to them every day," Mavety told me. "I've got a great relationship with Coach Warinner and he's been out to see me a few times."
While the Buckeyes staff is known for their extensive traveling, the key question with Mavety is when would he make a trip to Columbus to check on the Buckeyes? It appears that question finally has an answer.
"I'm making an unofficial visit there on June 15th," he added. "I want to see how the environment is with the guys on the team and with the coaches, and just see how I fit in."
