Just got word that the four-star wide receiver and current Oregon pledge from San Diego will NOT be visiting Ohio State this weekend.
There are many ways to look at this, but my guess is that the Buckeyes were not going to come through with a scholarship after landing Corey Smith at the outside receiver position.
Dontre Wilson, Ryan Timmons, James Clark, and Corn Elder would all play an "inside receiver" position for the Bucks, and I think their focus lies there, as well as with Vonn Bell.
Stay tuned as a lot more action is bound to happen before Signing Day next week.

Thanks Alex, can we get Belll and Wilson and move to 2014:)
You mistakenly said Wilson instead of Clark.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Alex. Do you know if Timmons got an in house visit today?
It was supposed to be last night but Urban supposedly got caught in Nashville due to weather. Tonight was the last shot to get there, but I haven't heard if he will yet. Urban is in Cincinnati right now so the drive to see Timmons isn't far and would make sense logistically.
If Urban does not visit Timmons then I believe Timmons never received a committable offer from The Ohio State.
The fact that our head coach was in route to his house 6 days before NSD leads me to believe he did recieve a committable offer.
The fact that Urban Meyer is a relentless and dedicated recruiter that is the best in the business leads me to believe if he wanted to see Timmons he would, especially if he was just a hop and skip away from the recruit this afternoon. Go Bucks!
Somebody quickly tweet Zeke and tell him we canceled the visit of a kid who played running back in Pop Warner 865 pound division
quickly, NOBODY tweet EzE, let the kid have his requested privacy and hope for the best on NSD. I trust our staff.

hahahaha!!
Too nervous to laugh or just low IQs??
Not surprising. Just hoping we keep Zeke at this point. Stud class and anything else is gravy.
Wonder if this is any indication on how the staff feels we stand with James Clark. Like you said, lots of ways to look at this. More likely he just didn't want to come out without an offer in hand, which is definitely fair.
4-6 seconds of relentless effort
Yeah but he didn't get an offer for a reason. That reason was either Corey Smith or the staff feeling good about one or two of the remaining targets IMO.
Sorry, I was saying that I thought the last reason was more likely than the first I posed. Wasn't trying to say your explanation wasn't valid or anything. I'm really hoping you're right, would love to have Clark and Smith as the close to our offensive class.
4-6 seconds of relentless effort
EzE is all in, it's not a secret. Not to sound like a stalker or anything, but it seems that most of you guys don't tweet? But his parents are all Buckeye, his Dad's avatar is him & Urbz, his mom is always conversing about being here in Columbus with Buckeye fans & other future Buckeye moms and EzE has NEVER waivered. I mean his Dad is driving around with Buckeye leaves on their truck(which Mizzou fans mistake for another plant), his sister is rocking Ohio State hoodies, etc...
The kid is just sick of the madness around recruiting - and we should understand that.
"Leave...Your...Mark..."
hes also retweeting jayme thompson
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I'm hoping for James Clark!
Bell and Clark would be an unbelievable finish and sould make a strong push for a top two class
Zeke did remove the OSU picture on his twitter, still says he's a commit though
He actually removed both OSU pics since his visit to Mizzou. I'd like to have him but we have an awesome class either way and our RB situation is nothing to worry about. If he is gone I wish he'd take the high road and just man up. Mind games are never good for anyone involved. I have no doubt Urban has a handle on it and itsn't going to lose out either way.
If Zeke is going to flip, he needs to inform the staff so we can recruit Wilson as a RB. If he flips I'll be ticked because we stopped recruiting Derrick Green for him.
I agree. While I won't fault him for 'flipping' as this is a very important decision for him, it would be kind of a slap in the face to request to be the only back taken in a class only to flip on National Signing Day leaving that previous team with no running backs.
I completely agree... He has to have informed the staff of something. It would be a real crappy move to do something like that.
I find this very concerning... say what you will about him still being committeed but him removing the OSU picture he's had for months after taking a Mizzou official visit is not a good sign... I still think we land him but I am getting nervous
Anyone think Marshall could fill a RB spot?
"They don't know what they don't know." - Coach Mick
He'll play a pivot role. Get some carries and catching screents but more of a reciever. He will not be a between the tackles RB.
He only took down the OSU pics because he's realizing his career as a Bomber in football is really over & his next journey is about to begin. When he first put the picture up he said he missed it already...We have to keep things in context...his Twitter & Instagram have been consistent - committed to THE Ohio State University.
"Leave...Your...Mark..."
FWIW....the picures are still there...just not his profile picture.
247 is reporting we are out of the running for Timmons. I guess the staff got a silent verbal tonight or he ruled them out.
Why would us tOSU being out of the running for Timmons mean we've received a silent verbal?
"They don't know what they don't know." - Coach Mick
I'm saying we might have gotten a silent verbal from Clark or Wilson so the staff ruled out Timmons.
Well Bob, I really wouldnt say I've been missing it.
lol thank you for getting the reference.
"They don't know what they don't know." - Coach Mick
If wishlist it would be 1. Clark 2. Bell. Bell is stud , but I believe Thompson will be a heavy hitter. Clark has it man, kid can burn, and is fluid in motions.
Timmons said he had a great visit today with florida, so maybe timmonss has narrowed his choices to uk or fla?
It was apparent a month ago that the only way Timmons was going to The Ohio State University was as a tuition paying ordinary student.
His coach and his imagination appear to be what strung him along, since a lot of casual non-insider observers have noted the writing on the wall which could be seen from Lexington to Columbus, as tOSU asked 10 different girls to the prom over a period of weeks as the kid waited for his invite.
I wish the very best for Ryan Timmons. My OSU Buckeyes will be great even if they closed up shop today with 23. This process was new to his coach and I believe his coach helped keep things real for Ryan. Im pretty sure it was his coach that advised him against taking his last OV to OSU without an offer,, because he knew UF and others were on the verge of giving him an offer. I believe Timmons gave Coach Meyer a courteous silent non commit knowing the busy schedule.
I for one believe his patience and continuous treatment as a Plan C recruit finally opened his eyes that he wasnt part of the Buckeyes plans. Most likely this was driven home by any number of coaches that visited him over the past 3 weeks.
This doesnt make anyone a bad guy and especially not his coaches who have done their very best for him. Mistakes were probably made but not by intention.
