Four-star offensive tackle Caden Moss, the No. 72 overall recruit in the 2027 class, commits to Ohio State.
Ohio State has earned its biggest out-of-state recruiting win on the offensive line in six years.
For the first time since Donovan Jackson in the 2021 class, a top-100 overall prospect on the offensive line who isn’t from Ohio has committed to Ohio State. Caden Moss, the No. 72 overall prospect in the 2027 class, announced his commitment to the Buckeyes on Friday.
Moss, a native of Jackson, Mississippi, chose the Buckeyes over Ole Miss, Kentucky, LSU, Oregon and Tennessee.
The Moss File
- Class: 2027
- Size: 6-5/320
- Pos: OT
- School: Jackson Academy (Jackson, Mississippi)
- Composite Rating: ★★★★
- Composite Rank: #72 (#7 OT)
A 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive tackle, Moss had been Ohio State’s top target on the offensive line for months. The only uncommitted offensive lineman to visit Ohio State this month, Moss was the last offensive lineman that the Buckeyes were still seriously pursuing after Pennsylvania four-star offensive tackle Jimmy Kalis committed to Ohio State in April.
Moss becomes the sixth and final offensive lineman in Ohio State’s 2027 class, joining a group that also includes in-state linemen Kellen Wymer, Mason Wilt and Davis Seaman and Virginia four-star prospect Brody McNeel. Moss is Ohio State’s 16th overall commitment in the 2027 class.

His commitment is the biggest recruiting win so far in Tyler Bowen’s two-year tenure as Ohio State’s offensive line coach. Moss is the first out-of-state offensive lineman Bowen has landed at Ohio State to be ranked within the top 300 overall prospects of their recruiting class.
Moss is expected to primarily play tackle for the Buckeyes, but could also play guard.
He will be just the second player ever from the state of Mississippi to play for Ohio State, joining former Buckeye tight end Craig Robinson, who played just one season for Ohio State in 1990.
