Ohio State is getting an early in-state boost to its offensive line haul for the 2027 recruiting class.
Six minutes after the Buckeyes landed four-star offensive tackle Kellen Wymer from their backyard, three-star in-state offensive lineman Mason Wilt committed to the Buckeyes over offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Florida State, NC State, North Carolina and Penn State, among others.

Wilt is the No. 426 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings and the No. 15 prospect from Ohio. He's ranked as the No. 27 interior offensive line prospect in the 247Sports composite.
The Wilt File
- Class: 2027
- Size: 6-5/295
- Pos: OL
- School: St. Clairsville (St. Clairsville, Ohio)
- Composite Rating: ★★★
- Composite Rank: #426 (#27 IOL)
A product of St. Clairsville High School in St. Clairsville, Ohio, Wilt visited Ohio State for the Penn State game on Saturday and decided to pull the trigger on his pledge the next day. It's been a lifelong dream of the 6-foot-5, 295-pound edge protector to become a Buckeye, and now he'll get to live out that ambition.
Wilt landed his offer from Ohio State in June, and Buckeye offensive line coach Tyler Bowen locked down his commitment in less than five months. Bowen's done well building out depth in his first two Buckeye offensive line classes, even if OSU is still hunting its first five-star offensive line prospect since Donovan Jackson signed with the squad in the class of 2021.
Wilt has excellent feet for his size and a mean streak to finish blocks with authority. He has a tendency to lean forward into his blocks, which will need correcting at the next level, particularly for pass protection purposes. But he's got the mentality and athleticism to be a factor with a few years of good development.
Wilt plays left tackle at St. Clairsville High School, but told Lettermen Row that he’ll play on the interior offensive line at Ohio State.
Wilt comes to Ohio State from the same high school as former OSU offensive tackle Avery Henry. He helped lead the Red Devils to an 8-2 regular season this year and a win in the first round of the OHSAA playoffs. They’ll continue their playoff run against Garfield High School on Friday.
Wymer and Wilt are the fourth and fifth players to join Ohio State's 2027 recruiting class, along with wide receiver Jamier Brown, quarterback Brady Edmunds and safety Angelo Smith.
