Ohio State landed a commitment from a four-star offensive lineman on Sunday, just two days after he received an offer from Michigan.
Kellen Wymer, an offensive tackle from Liberty Center, Ohio, announced his commitment to Ohio State on Sunday, one day after visiting OSU for the Buckeyes’ 38-14 win over Penn State.

Wymer was one of two in-state offensive linemen in the 2027 class to commit within minutes of each other on Sunday, as Ohio State also landed a commitment from three-star St. Clairsville offensive lineman Mason Wilt.
The Wymer File
- Class: 2027
- Size: 6-5/265
- Pos: OT
- School: Liberty Center (Liberty Center, Ohio)
- Composite Rating: ★★★★
- Composite Rank: #216 (#10 IOL)
Wymer is ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the state of Ohio and the No. 216 overall prospect in the 2027 class. He committed to the Buckeyes over offers from 15 other schools including Auburn, Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech, among others.
Wymer had just received an offer from Michigan – the school he grew up rooting for, he told 247Sports in June – on Friday. But that didn’t dissuade Wymer from committing to the Buckeyes after seeing them up close and in person again this weekend.
”In all honesty I grew up a Michigan fan, but after going to Ohio State and listening to their video before camp I got chills,” Wymer told 247Sports after receiving his Ohio State offer in June. “In that moment I knew I could see myself playing here and being a Buckeye.”
Wymer and Wilt are the fourth and fifth players to join Ohio State’s 2027 recruiting class, along with wide receiver Jamier Brown, quarterback Brady Edmunds and safety Angelo Smith.
Wymer plays left tackle for Liberty Center High School, leading the way to a 10-0 regular season for the Tigers this fall, giving them the No. 1 seed in the playoffs for OHSAA Division V, Region 18. They’ll host Oak Harbor in the second round of the playoffs on Friday.
