The Runzas last weekend were OK. The recipe I followed was good, but the dough fell apart at times. Still had plenty of flavor though.
With a bye week on tap, I am going back home to my uncle's house to help him brew some beer for thanksgiving. He calls it Caribou Slobber, and it is a very good brown ale with tremendous flavor; he has his own recipe that he uses.
With that said, we needed something different to make since we will be busy with beer all day, so I figured I would bring down some stuff to grill. Then I remember my uncle has a sweet smoker: we decided to smoke 2 whole chickens and some ribs.
Chicken Rub (similar to Simon & Garfunkel Rub from amazingribs.com):
2 tspn. Lowry's
2 Tbsp. Garlic Powder
2 Tbsp. Onion Powder
2 Tbsp. Oregano
2 Tbsp. Basil
2 Tbsp. Thyme
2 Tbsp. Rosemary
2 Tbsp. Sage
2 tspn. White Pepper
1 tspn. sugar
Rinse chicken off, pat semi dry (leave it damp), and coat with seasoning, then toss on the grill/smoker.
Rib Rub (I make a bunch of this at 1 time; I do 2 Tbsp. of each, but only 1 tspn. of the pepper and 1 Tbsp of cumin):
