As the calendar slowly creeps towards July, we’ve got a slew of commitment dates approaching.

Official visit season has already come and gone and now the Buckeyes will find out over the next few weeks whether they did enough or not to land some of their most coveted targets for the 2026 cycle.

In our final Hurry-Up of the week, we’re taking a look at some of the scheduled commitments from OSU targets and how they might unfold over the next week. We’ll also touch on a bit of fun news for two Ohio State commits at the end of the article.

As a quick programming note, I will be on vacation starting on Friday and lasting until July 14, so if (let’s be honest, when) any commitments happen within that timeframe, the rest of the Eleven Warriors beat team will have you covered.

Anyhow, let’s delve into the upcoming commitments.

Aaron Thomas, offensive tackle, Wednesday

In the most immediate commitment, the three-star lineman will make his pledge this evening, likely either to OSU or Texas A&M. As of this writing, I feel pretty good about where the Buckeyes stand, but we’ll all find out together pretty soon.

Mack Sutter, tight end, Thursday

Keenan Bailey would like to continue his streak of taking two tight ends in the 2026 cycle, but that streak may come to an end, considering Alabama remains a heavy favorite for the talented Illinois standout.

Jerquaden Guilford, wide receiver, Friday

Guilford worked out for Hartline at a recruiting camp ahead of his official visit and proved that he was talented enough to succeed at Ohio State. That workout may have just convinced Hartline to take five wideouts this cycle and there’s a good chance the scarlet and gray are the pick here.

Damari Simeon, defensive tackle, Friday

You could make an argument that Simeon is quietly Ohio State’s most coveted remaining defensive tackle target. The New Jersey product will choose between OSU, Texas, Michigan and Penn State at 5 p.m. on Friday and I’d expect the Buckeyes to do everything they can to be competitive here.

Jackson Ford, defensive end, Friday

Ford is an intriguing player, but with Khary Wilder already committed at defensive end, OSU is probably going to pursue higher-profile targets. Penn State will likely win this recruitment.

Cameron Brickle, defensive tackle, Saturday

There’s no questioning Brickle’s interest in Ohio State. What’s more uncertain is if Brickle will be given the green light to join the class, considering OSU is still in pursuit of Simeon, Jamir Perez and Emanuel Ruffin, among others. If he gets the green light, Ohio State should be in good shape here.

Xavier Griffin, linebacker, Sunday

Ohio State impressed Griffin and his family on their official visit on May 30, but it would still be pretty surprising if the five-star standout went anywhere besides Alabama.

PJ Dean, defensive tackle, Monday

The tea leaves suggest OSU has moved on here unless something unfolds over the next few days. I’d expect Georgia to be the selection on Monday.

Emanuel Ruffin, defensive tackle, July 4

This is certainly an interesting one. Ruffin is down to LSU and OSU and will announce his commitment on America’s birthday. The Tigahs (still miss you Ed O) already have two defensive tackles committed and might add another in the near future, so their class is already getting pretty full here. You get the sense that if OSU pushes hard for Ruffin, this is a recruitment the Buckeyes could win.

Khary Wilder, Sam Greer are top two performers at Rivals Five-Star Challenge

Two Ohio State commits are likely in line for a big ratings bump following their performances at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge on Tuesday in Indianapolis.

Defensive end Khary Wilder was named the camp’s MVP of the day following his domination in one-on-one competition, including against five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo.

Offensive tackle Sam Greer was the second-best player of the day, according to On3’s rankings.

The two future Buckeyes matched up together on a pair of reps, with each winning one.
