PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
He put his "lock" on it yesterday. While this is not a sure thing, the guy is right about 85% of the time when he locks an athlete. LB university.
Which scout insider?

So 85% of the time it works every time

Not to big on the term "Lock".
I know. That said, this guy lists his "locks" on their forum in its own thread going back a couple years right or wrong. We all know that until they sign it is all
speculation anyway but this guy doesn't lock unless he has a high degree of certainty. As I said, his successful speculation rate is in the mid 80s last time I looked.
I believe that Nevedabuck is the first to say that his "====" are not him saying the kid is a lock. The "====" is at that moment. The moment that he put that out there was a moment in which Booker had not yet committed. I believe this is the very reason he avoids the term lock. There is no such thing as a lock in recruiting.
P.S. 85% is about as good as any insider could ever hope to be.
Which is why I put the term "lock" in parenthesis. That is my equivalent to "air quotes". I wasn't quite sure what to call "====". The only reason I shared at all was because of his good track record when he issues the "====".
I learn something everytime I post a topic here. You fine gentlemen, and I presume ladies, of 11W Nation will never see me post the term "lock" again.
Wasn't this pretty much assumed to be the case anyways?
Not a bad piece of new information though.
Except it's not new (see other posts).
I lived at 13th and summit one year...
Some of my good friends lived there this past year. Maybe it's the alcohol currently circulating through my system, but I feel like that makes us friends. So, yay, new friends.
When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.
Not big on the term lock either, but still gotta love that news! I've always been under the impression that Winovich was going to be a Buckeye, even after his recent buzz about UM after his visit. If we can hold on to Raekwon, our last 2 LB hauls combined would be amazing!
would be 3 LBs, wonder if that impacts McMillan at all? sure hope not.
Doubt it, in other threads I asked the same question, as did others, and the general consensus is that Raekwon is the only PURE MLB if he would commit, the others: Booker, Berger, Winovich, would be more OLB type guys, and some (Booker/Winovich) could grow into a 'Hand-in-the-ground' type of player as well off the edge. But I feel like this should have no negative impact on Raekwon, if anything, it should make him feel comfortable, knowing that he has all this talent coming in around him, seeing how the defense is being bolstered around him, should he commit of course. But just IMO, of course.
Nevadabuck is a clown, his "insider info" is overrated garbage
Maybe. I find that many "insiders" are somewhat dubious, but I'm just trying to talk some recruiting in a long off season.
This was a few weeks ago not yesterday.
Cell phone fail. I misread the date. Sorry, in any event, the point stands.
A lot has chnged since then.
It used to be that the OSU recruiting places were bullish on Winovich while the TTUN ones thought he would head north. FWIW, per 247, MGoBlog (as of May 22) now feels that Winovich will head to the good guys. Not a sure thing, but maybe it is a sign that our rivals are losing faith in their footing a bit on Winovich. In the end, I think Winovich is smart enough to realize what Meyer is building at Ohio State and will want to be a part of it.
"The minute we stop expecting greatness, we become Wisconsin."
Just some background, nevadabuck normally gives his "==" or "lock" when the recruit tells someone on the staff that they will commit to OSU.
Thanks Hayze for providing proper context. Provided that is what happened, that makes his "locks" a pretty big deal.
Insider: _____ is a lock to _______
Recruit: I'm committing to _______(different school than insider predicted)
Insider: My bad. Now if you pay me $14.99, i'll tell you why he committed to a different school.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Good, though I don't look to the "insiders" with any seriousness. The good folks covering the recruiting here at 11W (Mr. Birmingham, GeneStarWind) do just fine imho.
Think Winovich is playing college ball out of state, and he doesn't need to look too far beyond the border to find an elite program that will have him.
"Success - it's what you do with what you got" - Woody Hayes
Hasnt' anyone mentioned that Jeremy put in his recruiting notebook, rather quickly and subtly at the end that we should be on the lookout for a commitment from Chase pretty soon? To me, that spells multiple sources saying this is a likely done deal.
I will say that the whole Jamarco Jones is a lock to OSU is really freaking me out these days. I am not all that confident, although I do believe we lead at this point in time, I think it's still really close. He's also visiting all of his finalists one more time, and I don't want to count our eggs to early especially with one that could be really devastating like Jones. If he goes to UM, I will puke. That is a guarantee.
As far as I'm concerned, nobody is a lock until they commit, keep their commitment, and then sign on the dotted line come February.
Then you have the Vanderdoes saga, which shows that, even then, it's not a sure thing.
^^This so much Tennbuckeye
Hate the word lock to describe any one looking at OSU unless they've committed (and even then I still wonder until Feb every year).

BREAKING NEWS - I am a "lock" to go make another drink and continue reading.
"all men are created equal, it's just that some are MORE equal than others"
Sorry, I just had to bump this as I got so tired of the adolescent adoration of this guy by so many on Scout. If you disagree or challenge him you get reprimanded. His === signs tend to be with recruits like Booker who my grandma could predict. I'd have a 90% prediction rate with those odds.
Looks like Brady Hoke found a key to that "lock"!
Insert witty remark
Was it at the center of his chicken parm sandwich? Mmmmmm......chicken parm......
60% of the time it works.....every time
Told you in this very thread nevadabuck is garbage and a fraud, feel free to downvote me again, im still right
And people actually pay for that crap...and thank him for taking their money. This site is so much more credible IMO.
And this is why I doubt Scout...
