Many of you have been waiting and it is Marcell Lazard. Could announce within a few weeks. Would be shocked if he's not a Buckeye as Meyer KILLED the visit.
Hoping Pocic but this is the next best thing because of the significant need for offensive linemen. Is Lazard projected as an OT? If so, will that affect Pocic's decision with Lisle already commited as well?
Can't get too wrapped up where hes ranked and how many stars he has, I doubt Urban would go after someone he doesn't think will be good for him, if Coach Urban thinks the kid is good, then so do I lol.
I don't pay attention to his 3 stars. Kid has solid film and some high profile offers which means other coaches like what they see. This is a big time pick up although I doubt it effects Pocic.
Alex, that does make me feel better, although I'm aware of our lack of depth on the OL (and especially at OT), so I'd be shocked if this would affect Pocic's decision.
Alex, maybe I'm reading to much into this, but since you told us...I would assume "someone" gave you the go ahead to release it to your readers, of course maybe that's just my "Army thinking way outside the box" mentality....and I'm totally wrong....
I believe that Dave Biddle over at Bucknuts let the cat out of the bag and so once it was out, Alex didn't feel bad about sharing. Obviously Dave didn't feel that he needed to hold back so Alex was probably playing it safe (better than sorry).
Well that bodes well for the next two weeks that Marcell was cool with it and he just did the interview. The staff said they only want to take 3 OL in this class and with Lisle already committed, assume Lazard commits, does this put pressure on Pocic to commit sooner rather than later? Also, I guess I always assumed Peterson (Lovell) would receive a offer however this is looking less and less likely. Do you think depending on how the class shakes out that tOSU could take 4 OL, or do you think they'll stick with 3? (Or maybe I should hold this question for the next mailbag, lol?)
I'm sure Urban would take more than three O-Linemen if someone like Tunstill wanted to commit. That being said, has anyone heard anything about him lately, is he thinking about taking a visit?
@Corveyer, everything I've heard here and other places seems to indicate he wants to stay in the south...but as Alex likes to say "get him on campus with Urban and anything can happen"...
If after spring ball an OL decides he isn't going to make it here and transfers out, they may take a 4th OL, but that is just my opinion - no inside knowledge.
Agree with Northbrook that they would take a 4th OL if someone decides to leave or if the right player wants to come...I think Pocic has a spot saved no matter what....
Decker = definite Tackle
Dodson = more than likely tackle, but wouldn't be shocked to see him as a guard down the road, all depends on how things shake out
Pocic = Tackle
Lisle = probably could play guard too
Lazard = recruited as tackle but I can see him moving inside and he can play guard too
If we get Pocic and Lazard, along with Lisle and Decker,Dodson, and O'connor (along with Boren and Elfin) from last year, I'm feeling MUCH better about our OL in the next few years than I do this year with the current group....
Seems to me like almost every elite Olineman is an OT by his senior year. I believe all 5 of Michigan's OL commits this year are listed as OTs on all (or most) of the recruiting sites. It's pretty well known where most is targeted to play. I'm sure Alex's write ups will indicate the positions they'll likely start out at.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

I don't necessarily mean that they're tackles in high school hail, I mean that we are recruiting them at tackle. I understand and agree good OL are usually at OT or C in high school
How good is Lazard?

@fails comment- I was wondering the same thing. Not a "big name" like I was hoping for
"Love my State, hate the football"
If we can land Poggi/Bosa we could have another loaded class in the trenches

Favorite Buckeye: Obviously BJ Mullens
Especially someone he chases down out of state.

Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
The kids offer list is damn impressive
UM gave him an offer also, so Hoke saw something there also. Glad he is on the good side.
yaya, yaya, good news for hump day....
Yes that does make me feel better! We needed some recruiting momentum and we seem to be surging!
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I tend to agree that it's most important to look at offer lists > stars.

Cool. Thanks for sharing Alex.
vacuuming sucks

Spoke to Marcell and he is cool with it but Bucknuts ran their story last night (mine will roll out here soon) so that's when I caved in

I could be wrong, but with Dodson, Decker, Lisle, Pocic, and Lazard, aren't they all tackles?
My thinking as well DMC, curious as to when we start getting some guards. Although I believe we took a guard or two last year.
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite

I believe Joey O Connor is being penciled in as a guard in the 2012 class. Easier to take a tackle and make him a guard than vice versa.
