Taison Chatman has found his next school.

On3's Pete Nakos reported Friday that the former Ohio State guard has signed with Utah. He will have two years remaining to use with the Utes.

Despite arriving as a top-40 recruit in 2023, Chatman’s first two years at Ohio State were derailed by health issues. Nagging lower-body injuries limited his freshman season to just 17 games, followed by a torn ACL that forced a medical redshirt for the 2024-25 campaign.

As a redshirt sophomore, Chatman finally entered the rotation, overtaking Gabe Cupps as the primary backup guard. He averaged 4.3 points in 13 minutes per game and proved a lethal perimeter threat, shooting 47.1% from 3-point range.

In 2025-26, Chatman emerged late as a spark for a struggling bench, averaging 7.8 points over the final 12 regular-season games. However, his season ended poorly due to another injury and scoreless outings during the Buckeyes' short-lived postseason run.

Chatman is the third Ohio State transfer to land at their next school, joining Cupps (UIC) and forward Devin Royal (Villanova). Forward Colin White and guard Mathieu Grujicic are still in the transfer portal.
