Six games will finish as all the action Mathieu Grujicic saw in a Buckeye uniform.
The rising sophomore wing has entered the transfer portal after one season at Ohio State.
Grujicic came to Columbus as an intriguing international pickup, a French-born German native who played professional basketball in Spain. In 21 games with FC Barcelona II, which plays in the fourth tier of Spanish professional basketball, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and two assists.
A versatile player and person who speaks five languages, the thought was that he could play either shooting guard or small forward as he developed at the end of the Buckeyes' bench in 2025-26, but he finished his lone Ohio State season with six total points, five rebounds and two assists. He never played after a Dec. 23 game against Grambling State. Walk-on guard Braylen Nash, by contrast, got into the final minutes of three games after that point.
With Grujicic joining Devin Royal and Colin White in the portal, Ohio State’s only true wing on its 2026-27 roster is incoming five-star small forward Anthony Thompson. The Buckeyes will look to add at least one more wing through the transfer portal, with Notre Dame’s Jalen Haralson being a top target.
Grujicic is the fifth overall Buckeye to enter the transfer portal since the end of the season, also joining guards Gabe Cupps and Taison Chatman.
