#2 INDIANA 3 3 7 0 13

On a night where Ohio State’s offense mustered only one touchdown despite reaching the red zone four times, Jayden Fielding missed a game-tying 27-yard field goal attempt wide left with less than three minutes to play, allowing Indiana to run out the clock to win its first Big Ten championship since 1967 and beat Ohio State for the first time since 1988.

The Buckeyes failed to score a single point after halftime.

Despite the loss, Ohio State is still expected to receive a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff, as the Buckeyes should not fall further than fourth in the final CFP rankings, which will be released on Sunday.

Key Moments

Q1, 1:41: Igbinosun picks pass off Styles tip

After an ugly start for Ohio State’s offense as Julian Sayin threw an interception on the Buckeyes’ opening series and the Buckeyes punted on their second possession, Ohio State’s defense made a big play as Lorenzo Styles Jr. tipped a screen pass by Fernando Mendoza and Davison Igbinosun intercepted the ball off the tip to give the Buckeyes the ball at the 25-yard line.

Q1, 0:46: Sayin finds Tate for 9-yard score

Sayin turned a long-developing play into the game’s first touchdown, keeping his eyes downfield for more than five seconds before throwing on the move to a wide-open Carnell Tate in the end zone for a 9-yard score.

Q2, 12:54: Sayin and Smith connect for 54

A 54-yard deep connection between Sayin and Jeremiah Smith got Ohio State to Indiana’s 22-yard line, ultimately resulting in a 30-yard Jayden Fielding field goal that gave the Buckeyes a 10-3 lead.

Q3, 8:02: Mendoza, Sarratt connect to give Indiana lead

After never trailing in the second half for the entire regular season, Ohio State fell into its first second-half deficit of the year as Mendoza led a seven-play, 88-yard drive, culminating with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Mendoza to Elijah Sarratt, to put the Hoosiers ahead 13-10.

Q3, 1:04: Sayin ruled short on 4th-and-1

Ohio State drove to the 5-yard line on its subsequent possession, but left the field without points when it opted to go for it on 4th-and-1 and Sayin’s knee was ruled to be down short of the line-to-gain on a quarterback sneak attempt, allowing Indiana to take a lead into the fourth quarter.

Q4, 2:48: Fielding shanks 27-yard kick

Ohio State settled for a game-tying field goal attempt after driving to the 9-yard line, and Fielding shanked his attempt wide left.

Q4, 2:26: Mendoza completes 33-yard dagger to Becker

With the Buckeyes needing a quick stop to get the ball back, Mendoza drove a dagger through the Buckeyes by completing a 33-yard deep ball to Charlie Becker.
