In the new era of college football and with the expanded CFP, it's hard to be perfect.
That said, every loss hurts, especially for a program like Ohio State.
The Buckeyes suffered their first loss of the season Saturday night in Indianapolis, falling to Indiana, 13-10. It was the first time that OSU trailed in the second half this season, and the first time they had to deal with major adversity in the fourth quarter.
The bad news: Ohio State couldn't overcome that adversity, obviously.
The good news is that the Buckeyes will still likely secure a top-four seed and a first-round bye in the CFP, and will have 3.5 weeks not only to reflect on the areas they need to improve, but also to work on those areas.
That also means that OSU will have 3.5 weeks to hear and read about their inefficiencies and the ways it struggled Saturday night in Lucas Oil Stadium. With that in mind, let's take a look at how the social media world reacted throughout the Big Ten Championship game:

Heavy Personnel? Never Personnel
We have 3 NFL WRs and an elite RB..but how many TEs can we get in the game at 1 time is a philosophy I will never understand. SMDH
— Matt Finkes (@MattFinkes) December 7, 2025
In crucial downs we bring in 3 TEs and take 17 off the field. Im sorry Im not taking 17 off for 85. Call me crazy

Strange clock management and conservative coaching happening. Both these coaches not wanting to give too much awaybecause they know theres a good chance theyll be playing each other again. These are clearly the two best teams in the countryand its not really close.

Indiana defense has done a good job of mixing coverage looks and disguising. Also playing tighter in those zone coverages. Got to tip your hat to them.

Win together, lose together blame no one. Congrats to Indiana. They got it done.

Real fans don't bash players. When theyre balling, you want to support them, but when the tables turn, those true colors come out.

Kudos to you, Curt Cignetti and the No. 1-seeded Indiana Freaking Hoosiers
Also big shoutout to my guy @Coach_BHaines! He was the LB grad asst at OSU my sophomore season. The guy is a star, clearly, and his defenses performance tonight is one of the main reasons Indiana is Big Ten Champs
— Joshua Perry (@mrjoshuaperry) December 7, 2025
Its 2025 and Duke and Indiana are Conference Champs. (In Football). Absolutely wild times.
— Dustin Fox (@DustinFox37) December 7, 2025
It's actually insane that the Indiana Hoosiers are undefeated and the No. 1 seed in the CFP.
— Josh Poloha (@JorshP) December 7, 2025
Kudos to Curt Cignetti.
Ohio State now waits to see what seed it will get in the CFP. If it's a top-four seed, the Buckeyes will get about 3.5 weeks off; seeds 5-8 will get around two weeks off. The College Football Playoff Selection Show is Sunday at 12 p.m. on ESPN.
