I know that some folks were not thrilled about the bubble screen, horizontal game. Downfield passing isn't yet "fixed." Sure, it was Army and that game plan alone might not beat PSU...unless teams want to keep dropping 8 into coverage (Clemson hammered us with it in 2013). Now that we've decided to make RPO's foundational to our core offensive identity, I think we'll see plays and strategy build off of this. Good article from Cleveland.com

There was nothing sexy or exciting about Ohio State's offensive game plan against Army....But it's a step in the right direction, and hopefully a sign that the coaching staff will stop trying to force onto Ohio State's offense a game plan and style of attack that doesn't fit its personnel.
