Jae’Sean Tate has continued to make a name for himself in Houston.
And that will remain the case, as the 29-year-old has signed a one-year, $3 million deal to remain with the Rockets, the only team he has played for since coming to the NBA in 2020.

Tate fought through an injury-riddled 2024-25 campaign, averaging a career-low 11.3 minutes per game while dealing with a right ankle impingement, which caused him to only play in 52 games (two starts), including missing all of Houston's first-round playoff series against the Golden State Warriors. After starting in 135 games during his first two NBA seasons from 2020-22, Tate has played in just 148 games over the last three seasons since then.
The 2020-21 All-Rookie team selection averaged 3.6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this past season but will look to get back to his usual, do-it-all ways as a 6-foot-5 wing and power forward after getting healthy this offseason. Although his career-low number might not prove it, Tate had a 6.3 net rating this past season, tied for fifth on the Rockets.
Following his four-year career at Ohio State, Tate went undrafted in 2018 and spent two seasons overseas playing for the Antwerp Giants in Belgium in 2018-19 and the Sydney Kings in Australia in 2019-20. Since getting the call from the Rockets, the former Buckeye has averaged 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 49.3% from the field and 30.9% from beyond the arc in 21.6 minutes per contest over five NBA seasons.
