Who do you think will win the national championship and who do you want to win it? I'm going Roll Tide because I refuse to root for the Irish. I think Bama is going to win a closer than some expect 31-25. Go Bucks!

0-0 tie
And then Saban and Kelly swing baseball bats at each other's heads (Step Brothers style).
I think you mean Casino style, as in Pesci's final scene.
Irish...don't like 'em, but f*ck Saban...he's a fake. No oversigning, no championship. His corrupt ways make him look like the notable coach for this era....but he couldn't sponge UFM's balls...
OMG IHATETHEMBOTHSOMUCH!!!!!!!! Ok now that I got that out of my system. It is really hard. I found ND fans obnoxious when they hadn't been relative for two decades. I am not sure how I'll handle them if they win. On the other hand, I am so dadgum sick of the SEC. I have gone back and forth several times but I'll probably root Irish.

I'll be cheering for injuries... That is all...
You know hating on a team is one thing, like how we hate Michigan but cheering and rooting for injuries is not.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
I usually don't root for injuries either, except for when the Steelers are playing, then I usually wish for someone to shatter Worthlisberger's pelvis; I've heard that it is pretty painful.
That's offensive, William. I expect better from you.
It's not Worthlisberger. It's Rapelisberger.
:)
I see we have some Steelers' fans in the house. Don't know how you folks can root for a rapist, but then again Pennsylvania sports teams and fans don't have much of a conscience when it comes to rape, example: Penn State. Anyway, commence with the downvoting.
Daaaaaamn...lol

I'm with you; I just can't decide if I should be cheering for a torn ACL or a broken clavicle.
Roll Tide!!! Will feel that much better next year to beat the 2 time defending champs for the national title.
This is like asking whether I'd rather get mugged or have my girlfriend cheat on me.
Either way there'll be tears and cussing.
Sick as everyone else hearing all the SEC crap, but there is no way in hell that i will root for nd. If they could both lose, that would be perfect!!
You have to hate losing more than you love winning! GO BUCKS!!
Notre Dame is the obvious choice here. If the SEC stuff doesn't stop, undefeated Big Ten teams are going to be passed over in favor of one-loss Floridas and LSUs
I'm with whichever 11w writer wrote something along the lines of hoping for a meteor to hit the stadium.
As soon as I saw this thread, I had planned on just saying 'I'll be rooting for the meteor'. Bah, you beat me to it!
4-6 seconds of relentless effort
I'm among the crowd that's hoping for a black hole to emerge in the middle of the field thus no national champ is awarded. Would rather see that than root for the SEC or ND any day.

My thoughts exactly!
this matchup makes me want to hurl..............
Battles are sometimes won by generals; wars are nearly always won by sergeants and privates. Football is no different, the guys down in the trenches win the games, not the coach.
Notre Dame. Think of it as a civil war reinactment. Plus we can claim another natty when ND joins the Big22 or whatever the hell we will be called. Screw the SEC. Without Saban and Miles the SEC isn't impressive. Traitors.
Dustin Fox was our leading tackler as a corner.... because his guy always caught the ball.
But, Ohio boys - Grant and Sherman - saved the Union.
It may take Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes, to vanquish the SEC.
Irish all the way. Don't think they will win though.
I didn't grow up with obnoxious ND fans like most people here, so I'm gonna root for the Irish. But that's only because BEEEEEE ONE GEEEEEEE SPEED!
"I like to kick Michigan's ass and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of gum."
The thought of a "BEEEEE ONE GEEEEEEE" chant made me laugh quite a bit! Thank you lol
I hope the whole stadium implodes from the combniation of the entitled people of Notre Dame and the hicks from SEC country. Hate em both, probably won't watch except to check score occasionally. Disgusts me to know that we should be playing Notre Dame in that game and another SEC school is gonna win it instead (most likely, gotta assume they'll be favored)
Sorry Urban, Woody is still my favorite
gotta root for the irish, i hate them just not as much as the entire sec bias... however, if notre dame wins it migh hurt us a bit more in recruiting
mark may wins douchebag of the year... again
I' mm go i ng to ro oot for No ttre Dame. Damn that was hard to type. Aannndd I threw up on my keyboard.
An angry fan...rooting for an angry team...led by angry coaches
Go Irish!
North vs South
I hate to say it but I want Bama to roll ND. I hate the SEC but I hate ND a tad more! I selfishly want the Buckeyes to dethrone the SEC in next years BCS Championship game. I also believe a title for the Irish could hurt recruiting for tOSU in some ways and we would have to hear the obnoxious ND fans gloat like they have been relevant all along. ND had a nice season but I like Alabama to dominate the lines and cruise to a double digit win.
Anyone wanting banana to win is lucky you dont live one the south
At first i was thinking I would be rooting for ND but the more I thought about it I think I will be going Roll Tide. The SEC will be the top dogs untill someone knocks them off and nothing would be sweeter then Urban and the Buckeyes being the ones to knock them off in the last BCS championship game next year :).
I've been saying this all year. Let the SEC reign continue, until Urban and the Buckeyes end it in Pasadena on January 7, 2014!
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Since I live in SEC country I have to go with the Irish. I am so tired of them thinking every team outside of the SEC as a bad team. I heard one Georgia fan on Thursday say that South Carolina is not a great team, just a good team. (WTF YOU GOT KILLED BY THEM) Honestly I think all these SEC fans have something wrong with them and I am hoping ND blows them out of the water. If they don't then we will beat an SEC team next season, which will also be VERY satisfying.
F--- Michigan!
my dream score would be roll tide roll 84
irish 0
Irish?
first choice: meteor hits the stadium and both teams are wiped out
second choice: freak blizzard in the south that postpones the game and eventually get cancelled for some reason
third choice: exciting game that bama wins just because i am used to hearing sh&t from the SEC but i refuse to take crap from notre dame fans for a team that got realllllllly lucky
Ugh. Not the SEC. So unfortunately the means Notre Dame. Shoot me now.
Tide will be favorite by around 7 points. there been millions of dollars going on Nd the last 10 days. My friends told me Nd would been favorite over Georgia.
Have to take the Irish. Midwest school, I find Brian Kelly entertaining, Saban is the devil, and Bama fans are the worst.
All schools have douchebag fans, but poisoning trees and tea-bagging opposing fans? It's not even close on the "% of fans that are douchebags" scale.
Ass-cappin' Irish.
I'd like to see the ND win but I think BAMA will grind out a win with that run game that nobody can stop. I don't see ND putting up alot of points so I'll go with 21-7
I can't see it happening this year, but I'd like to see ND over Bama 60-0 and then next year OSU over Bama 70-0 and then the next year OSU over Florida 80-0 and then OSU over LSU 90-0 well you get the idea.
I'd upvote you again if I could!
I'll root for the Irish in this one just because im tired of the SEC deepthroating by the media.
Go Irish!
[vomits up blood]
[dies]
Honestly, I'm just rooting for the meteor.
Roll Tide. If anyone is going to end the SEC's run it's going to be Ohio State next year not ND!
I hate both. I hate ND less. Hard to get my hate up for a team that hasn't beaten a quality bowl opponent since the 1990s and has not beaten us since 1936.
Maybe I'm anticipating the dire landscape of post-bowl January sports, but give me a close game and I'll be OK. Yesterday's SEC championship was just the latest proof that Bama is just not a great team. Good, but could easily be a three-loss team. Begs for an expanded playoff system that will not simply put three SEC teams in there with an undefeated.
That said, a pretty damn entertaining game and I anticpate ND will bring the same. I'll root for them. As stated above, I hate them less.
I'm hoping the world will end on Dec 21 so nobody can win.
Class of 2010.
If you believe ND's fans are obnoxious now, they will be absolutely unbearable if they win the NC game. Another NC won't change Bama or SEC fans so ROLL TIDE! Go Bucks!
Rooting for ND, beleive it will be close but ND will win.
Besides I'm much more tired of the Ole Miss and other bottom dwellers living off of LSU, UF and Bama. The whole my conference is better than your conference thing sucks when you know the Bucks would most of the SEC annually.
Go Irish!
F ND. The only way I'd ever cheer for them is when they play the fighting Hokes. Can't stand ND or their fans. Especially this year.
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
roll tide!!!!!!!!!
Now that I've given it some additional thought, I guess there's a positive either way!
ND wins: SEC talk minimized for at least a year
Bama wins: OSU is the only undefeated team in the country
I'll root for the refs, thank you.
Irish, I'm ready to stop hearing about the SEC.
This is a no brainer. IRISH!!!

I'd like to see ND win this....but let's be honest with one another....it's probably not going to happen. It will be close in the first half (21-21 or something like 14-10 or so) and Bama's line and two headed monster at RB beats them by 40 in second half. 49-21 or so....that's if ND's offense get's going in the first half. ND's offense might not even cross the 50 yard line if they don't get innovative with play calling and controlling turn overs. ND will have to pray to the lord, no pun intended, and hope their defense can keep it close like they've done all year. If that happens...you never know,...they may have a chance. Just look at how the rest of the world viewed OSU's chances in 2002...an 11.5 underdog at that time I do believe. I'm sure Bama will be favored by a similar margin even with a 12-1 record vs 12-0 ND.

First off...it's only one section that I wrote....and it's not my entire view point. I feel ND can play with Bama...just like I feel OSU could. Doesn't mean I think they'll win...just like I don't really think they won't pass the 50 (however, with an anemic offense...it could happen). Don't forget the teams like Pitt and others ND struggled with. What do think Bama would have done vs Pitt or others??? Hmmm....???
Trust me when I say...I hate the SEC just as much as I do ND. Used to love ND when they had Lou...since 1990 something...I've hated them. Bad coaching choices along with horrible recruiting...until just recently. I think they have a "chance"...but it's minimal at best. Just like us in 2002...as I mentioned....but you chose the one negative part...like always.

I'm not sure I'll care much who wins, but there's a part of me that would like the SEC to finally lose an NC game to quiet down all the SEC fanbois. Then again, there's another part of me that would love for Coach Meyer to be the one who shuts them up.
theres a national championship game this year?
I don't get the Bama defense love. Against competent offenses, they are a decent to good defense. They've lived off bad, bad offenses in the top heavy SEC. They played 3 good offenses all season, and frankly did not produce enough to be considered the top defense, as they are currently.
LSU, TX A&M, and Georgia all basically put up 400 yards against them (Georgia only 394, but they only had the ball for 22 minutes).
Otherwise, their opponents, offensively, were all pretty bad. Bama has a good defense, but to make it seem like ND won't be able to move the ball against them... they gave up a bunch of yards to LSU!
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"
Hmmm. Which do I dislike most? This is tough because as tired as I am of the SEC folks chanting about how their league is the greatest on the planet, can I stomach a world where Notre Dame is winning national titles? I've almost become immune to the SEC crap living here in the South. I mean I've even got Vanderbilt fans talking smack to me. But the Notre Dame fans and their superiority claiming "We're too good for a conference" and "We have higher standards for our student athletes" and all is too much to handle.
I really don't care who wins, though. Obviously if Bama wins, the SEC dominance continues. And if Notre Dame should win, do you really think the SEC crazies will change their tune? One year of not winning the title will not change anything.
Looks like your only choice is to hope the Mayans are correct then?
I'm crossing my fingers on that.
I'm ahead of you. I plan on winning the big points early on the pool, the world ends, but I have the most points when it does! It may be over, but I wll have the personal satisfaction of knowing I'm going out a winner.
I can't stand either of them...
How does Murphy throw that last pass anywhere but in the endzone? I'm still scratching my head over that play. I wanted to root for Georgia, but now I can't even watch that game.
If you watch the replay, he actaully was trying to pass it to the end zone and the ball was tipped by a Bama defender at the line of scrimmage. The closest Georgia receiver instinctively caught the ball, was tackled, and time ran out.
After last years nc debacle, I didn't think it could get worse. Then this game happened. is it too much to hope for a rogue wave to wipe out the stadium? I was in the majority who believed that bama is going to roll nd. But now I'm thinking differently. Especially after watching aj mccarron play so badly against georgia. ND's front 7 has been extremely stout this year. They can match up against bamas power run game much better than most teams. The only thing that is going to keep notre dame from winning this game is their offense. Who knows though...we weren't supposed to be able to stay in the same stadium as miami in '02. Notre dame could surprise you. I hate saying this....makes my skin crawl, my stomach turn and makes me feel dirty saying it. But let's go irish!
I think Bama will win. I think it will be closer than I first thought after seeing the SEC championship game but I refuse to root for ND and I hope they get blown out.
I'm rooting for Kelly and Saban to get into a bizarre pregame catfight. They don't realize that they're mic'd up and start trading ethnic putdowns (Irish v. Italian). Soon, Kelly's face looks like this . . .
The altercation between Kelly and Saban gets so ugly that they start trading blows, but the fight looks like this:
Then, the security guards that break up the "fight" inadvertantly allow Kelly to get in an extra cheap shot. So, Saban stomps off the field, screeching, "I quit! You mf'ers can play the national championship without me!"
We can shut everyone up next year when we're eligible. I really want to see the end of this SEC run, because if it doesn't end soon, we're looking at a playoff system tilted to include two to three SEC teams.
Praying for rain...monsoon like conditions leaving the stadium looking like an average Marlins crowd with the field conditions nearly unplayable to the point of the Snow bowl where both teams are 25+ times and are punting on 1st down hoping the other team will make a mistake. Any and all TV coverage is irrelevant because the rain is so fierce that the cameras cannot focus and the cameramen can't hold their footing.
The game is declared a tie at 3am after no one can put up any points through 12 overtime periods. The BCS fails to provide the one thing it guaranteed: an outright champion. Louisville upends Florida, while Oregon puts up triple digits on Kstate and unanimously voted the champions. No SEC 7x, no ND natty. No one dies, we all win.
Those who stay will be CHAMPIONS!

Torn between three outcomes....
Notre Dame loses = Ohio State as the only undefeated team in the country.
Bama loses = Notre Dame's B1G schedule is not as easy as everyone (read ESPN and SEC) claimed it to be. This probably only works if the B1G has a good showing this bowl season. Which could happen, but is not very likely.
Don't care = The Buckeyes are undefeated and everyone else can suck it!
I'm hoping the Mayans were right and the world ends 12/21/12, then they won't even get a chance to play for it.
"As long as we're keeping score, we're gonna try to win this thing." - UFM
I hate the S-E-C thing as much as anyone, but I am reluctantly rooting for Bama (by which I mean I hope they win--affirmatively "rooting" for them is more than I can muster) for the following reasons:
1. Domers are insufferable anyway; fair-weather Domers are the absolute worst.
2. Given where they're located, a revitalized Notre Dame could become a threat to our program. (You can make a case that ship has already sailed, but we've all seen how big a PR hit a program can take when it loses a national title game.)
3. Simple: the Irish lose, we finish as the one and only undefeated team, and the national champions in the minds of anyone that doesn't totally suck.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
4. The continued dominance of the SEC will make it so much sweeter when we beat them to win it all next year!

Go IRISH! Are you kidding me? The Bammer's are already obnoxious enough and this would clearly put them in dynasty conversation (3 in last 4 years) I don't want ANYBODY outside of TOSU to garner that kind of conversation! Plus, them being in the irritating SEC would do nothing but feed the frenzy that much more... IRISH ALL THE WAY BABY!!!

Neither. You have 2 scum bag coaches and 2 ridiculous fan bases. I'm hoping for a rogue asteroid that night. I really hate both teams. I could of lived with a 7th strait SEC team winning if it were Georgia. I respect Richt and that's a program that despite high expectations every year falls short, and mostly well short every time. I can't be happy about either of these teams winning though.
I have no hate for the Irish. It's not the players' fault they have their own TV contract, a rich tradition, and a nation-full of fans. Besides, somebody has to stop this SEC train. If it can't be OSU, or another worthy B1G team, it might as well be ND.

Personally, I'll never forgive him for the kid that died in the wind accident. It was gross negligence on his part; he basically slinked away from the whole situation, rather than admitting that the decsion to hold practice outside in 50 mph gusts was ultimately his.
Less than 24 hours before the accident, Tressel held OSU's practice indoors, saying that the weather could potentially endanger his videographers.
Didn't the kid Tweet something that day along the lines of well, hope I don't die today at practice? Obviously, it was said in jest, but after the whole situation unfolded that Tweet chilling to me.
Most specifically his terrible decision making led to a student dying. He shouldn't even have a job after that in my opinion. Second, he kept pushing UC to upgrade facilities and build a new practice facility and basically led them to believe that would be enough to keep him there. They made investments and he bolted. I don't begrudge people for leaving, but what he did to UC was just wrong. The guy cares about Brian Kelly and that's it. Notre Dame obviously kept him around because they care about winning and nothing else. If I were a parent of a highly touted recruit, I would not want my son playing for Kelly.
Man it's tough, I hate ND and don't really have a problem with Bama other than this could be title #3 in the last 4 years... And if you look at their team, offensively they lose 2 starters on the OL and both TEs and defensively they lose 2 on the DL 1 LB and 1 Safety and as we seen Bama has just been reloading as of late... point being, if they win again this year, they'll have a great shot at doing it yet again next year... not sure I want to see that.
I grew up in a big family where you were either an OSU fan or a Notre Dame fan. Never loved 'em but never hated them.
I just want to see the SEC run of National Titles end.
I'll be hoping a Catholic University from Indiana being led by a Senior linebacker who's of Somoan decent from Hawaii that is a Mormon helps do this.
JT
I'd prefer to just wait til next year when Urban gets to pound Florida. The man who started all this streak can also be the one to finish it. It would also be fitting that the 2 teams involved in that game be the same 2 teams that start a new era of dominance.
I hope Alabama gets it. That leaves Ohio State as the only undefeated team, Bama & Notre Dame with 1 loss, & Georgia with 2 losses. I don't really care what people say, if that scenario plays out, it only seems logical to give us the AP title. People also said we wouldn't go 12-0..
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, & Michigan still sucks
It's the only shot at an AP title, but I don't think one would happen. If Bama beats Notre Dame and has 1 loss, that would be wins over LSU, Georgia, and Notre Dame. 3 wins that are better than any team on Ohio State's schedule. Perhaps if the B1G goes on to have a great bowl season that helps Ohio State's cause. I really don't see Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan, MSU, or Purdue winning their bowls though, so that will just make Ohio State's resume look even worse.
The winner of the BCS title is going to be the AP champ.
