So chatter has started once again after dying off in the wake of the ACC signing their GOR. This round of speculation is brought to you by the usual suspects. Also see here and here and here. One thing of interest is that a couple of Ohio State fans over on Scout.com's pay board who have "sources" from within OSU are saying the same thing. Apparently Delaney has met with Texas twice last week and is working to have them in the B1G before the new contracts begin in 2017. The two sides are still very far apart on several issues but both parties are interested to see if they can hammer out a deal. One of the requirements from Texas is that Oklahoma be a travel partner and #16 in the B1G. If this were to happen, suddenly worries about the B1G West being weak are null and void. Now I know, I know, Oklahoma is not AAU but apparently Delaney and Co are ok with that due to their strong football brand. Also the thought is that the Longhorn Network is losing a lot of money and ESPN is interested in shedding the baggage since Disney has tightened the purse strings. Other targets on the B1G's want list is Mizzou, Virginia, North Carolina and Kansas. Some are still speculating about Vandy, FSU, and ND, though they all seem to be second choices at this stage in the game, though I am pretty sure if ND wanted in, they would be added in a heartbeat.
So there you have it. Will it amount to anything? Who knows. But its fun to think about.
