TC Caffey Transferring to Youngstown State

Former Ohio State walk-on running back TC Caffey, who grew up just outside of Youngstown in Hubbard, Ohio, is returning home as he signed with Youngstown State on Friday.

Caffey flashed potential during his freshman year at Ohio State, running for a 49-yard touchdown in his first-ever game appearance at Toledo, but a pair of season-ending knee injuries in 2022 and 2024 kept him from climbing the depth chart. Transferring down to the FCS level should give him the opportunity to play a much bigger role.

Courville Commits to Ohio State

Ohio State added some competition at kicker as Jackson Courville, a Dayton native who made 26 of 34 field goal attempts including two kicks longer than 50 yards at Ball State, committed to the Buckeyes on Saturday for their fourth – and possibly final – transfer addition of the spring.

Last DT Option Off the Board

Although Ohio State’s biggest need for the post-spring transfer window was at defensive tackle, it appears unlikely that the Buckeyes will land one as the last player available who was seen as a potential upgrade at the position, former Oklahoma State DT Justin Kirkland, committed to BYU on Friday.

Offensive Tackle Target Orion Irving Commits to Vanderbilt

Ohio State had wanted to two transfer offensive tackles following the post-spring window, but it now appears likely they will only add one – Justin Terry – as their last known remaining target at the position, former Sam Houston State offensive tackle Orion Irving, committed to Vanderbilt on Thursday.

Buckeyes Add Long Snapper Grant Mills

Ohio State made its third transfer addition of the post-spring transfer window – and second from a former North Carolina player – on Thursday with the commitment of Grant Mills, who gives the Buckeyes a needed backup and potential successor for returning starter John Ferlmann.

Another transfer defensive tackle target comes off the board as Georgia Southern’s Troy Pikes commits to South Carolina despite visiting Ohio State last weekend.

Justin Terry Commits to Ohio State

Tyler Bowen added depth to Ohio State's offensive line room via the transfer portal commitment of Justin Terry. The Pickerington, Ohio, native and former West Virginia offensive tackle will have four years of eligibility to use with the Buckeyes.

Beau Atkinson Commits to Ohio State

Former North Carolina standout Beau Atkinson committed to Ohio State. Atkinson visited Columbus on Monday and chose Ohio State over Georgia and South Carolina, who also actively pursued Atkinson once he was available on the portal market. He'll have two seasons of eligibility remaining to use with the Buckeyes. He's the first commit Ohio State has added in the spring transfer portal window.

TC Caffey Enters the Transfer Portal

Walk-on running back TC Caffey is entering the transfer portal after three seasons at Ohio State. Caffey earned 10 carries in two games as a freshman, collecting 66 yards and one touchdown.

Ohio State Predicted to Land Beau Atkinson

After former North Carolina defensive end Beau Atkinson visited Ohio State on Monday, Pete Nakos and Steve Wiltfong of On3 marked the Buckeyes as frontrunners to land the 6-foot-6, 265-pound edge rusher. Atkinson had a productive career with the Tar Heels, recording 54 tackles, 11 sacks and one forced fumble in two seasons.

Ohio State Target Maraad Watson Signs with Texas

Former Syracuse defensive tackle Maraad Watson, a Freshman All-American in 2024, signed with Texas. He chose the Longhorns over Ohio State, Georgia and Tennessee.

Jaden Ball to Visit Ohio State This Week

Former Purdue offensive lineman Jaden Ball will visit Ohio State this week, according to Steve Wiltfong of On3. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackle has received offers from Ohio State, Minnesota and Syracuse since he entered the transfer portal. A Carroll, Ohio, native, Ball did not appear in any games as a freshman in 2024.

Ohio State in Contact with Keelan Marion

Ohio State is one of 19 schools to contact former BYU wide receiver Keelan Marion since he entered the transfer portal, according to Hayes Fawcett of On3. In four seasons at UConn and BYU, Marion recorded a combined 76 catches for 1,125 yards and 12 touchdowns. He also showed off his talents on special teams, returning 38 kicks for 881 yards and three scores.

Troy Pikes and Orion Irving Schedule Visits to Ohio State

Former Georgia Southern defensive tackle Troy Pikes and former Sam Houston State offensive tackle Orion Irving will visit Ohio State on Friday, according to multiple outlets. Pikes appeared in 13 games for Georgia Southern last season and recorded 13 tackles and nine quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. Meanwhile, Irving recorded over 1,000 snaps in back-to-back seasons at Sam Houston State and allowed three sacks.

Long Snapper Morrow Evans Enters the Transfer Portal

Walk-on long snapper Morrow Evans entered the transfer portal after one season at Ohio State. The Bellaire, Texas, native was expected to be John Ferlmann’s successor at long snapper in 2026 but opted to look for an opportunity to play in 2025.

Walk-on wide receiver Reis Stocksdale entered the transfer portal after four seasons with the Buckeyes. The Morrow, Ohio, native recorded two catches during his Ohio State career.

Walk-on punter Anthony Venneri entered the transfer portal after one season with the Buckeyes. The Buffalo transfer was slotted to be Ohio State's third-string punter behind Joe McGuire and Nick McLarty in 2025.
