Ohio State‘s projected long snapper of the future is leaving the Buckeyes.
Morrow Evans, who was expected to be John Ferlmann’s successor at long snapper next season, has instead opted to look for an opportunity to play this season, announcing Thursday that he would enter the portal.

Evans, who was ranked as the No. 1 long snapper in the 2024 recruiting class by 247Sports, walked on at Ohio State last year. He did not see any playing time as a freshman as Ferlmann handled all of Ohio State’s long snapping duties last season.
Ohio State will now need to find a new backup long snapper for this season as Evans and Ferlmann were the only long snappers on the roster this spring.
