In recognition of Memorial Day, members of Ohio State's 2018 football team wrote letters to families of fallen military members, thanking them for making the ultimate sacrifice and promising that they will never be forgotten.

In a video posted to the Ohio State football team's social media accounts on Monday, Buckeyes linebacker Justin Hilliard, defensive tackle Robert Landers and wide receiver Terry McLaurin shared portions of the letters that they wrote.

"My late grandfather served, as well as my uncle," McLaurin said. "I know of the sacrifices made to make our country a better place, and the strain that it can cause on a family. It has afforded me many opportunities, and the ability to play the game that I love, and live out my dream at Ohio State.

"The world would be a much better place if there were more people like him," McLaurin continued, referencing the fallen soldier whose family he wrote to. "His sacrifice lives through me, and countless others, including my teammates. He's a hero, in every sense of the word, and is truly appreciated."
