A somewhat notable milestone in college athletics arrived on Friday.
Starting on Aug. 1, college teams can officially offer senior student-athletes revenue-sharing deals. Not that numbers haven’t been discussed beforehand, but those are all unofficial conversations. Athletes are able to officially sign the offers on National Signing Day.
Ohio State sent out official offers to its 2026 commits on Friday, though it’s unclear whether actual figures were officially offered yet to each athlete or if these were scholarship offers only for now. Several commits posted their offers to their social media pages, which we’ve compiled below.

Deuce Geralds committing Saturday
Ohio State’s top remaining defensive tackle target is making a final decision on Saturday. Four-star Georgia prospect Deuce Geralds will commit Saturday and pick from a final five of Ohio State, Oregon, Michigan, LSU and Ole Miss.
OSU had a lot of momentum early with Geralds in his recruitment and throughout the spring, but there’s a sense that some of that has faded throughout the summer. One day away from the decision, Oregon and LSU look like the top contenders for Geralds’ commitment.
Ohio State already has Damari Simeon, Jamir Perez and Cameron Brickle committed for 2026 as defensive tackles and Larry Johnson may be content with that trio for his current cycle, though the Buckeyes are still seeking another defensive end to pair with Khary Wilder.
Elijah Haven considering OSU/Texas visit
The top quarterback in the 2027 class is considering visiting Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ season-opening game against Texas on Aug. 30.
Five-star signal caller Elijah Haven’s father told On3 this week the family may visit OSU for the second time in his son’s recruitment following a trip to Columbus in June for a recruiting camp. The Buckeyes haven’t officially offered Haven as of yet, but are continuing to monitor their options as they eye taking another quarterback for the 2027 cycle in addition to Brady Edmunds.
“That one is interesting,” Kwame Haven told On3. “Don’t have an offer from them officially but they’ve been consistent with the outreach as well. I think their quarterback development speaks for itself when you talk about guys like C.J. Stroud and before him Justin Fields and Dwayne Haskins. Even last year Will Howard. They made it a point to show us you can achieve high team success and kids are achieving success at an individual level. Coach (Ryan) Day’s offense is nice. It’s stable there. Stability and development are the two most important things to me.”
Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Haven is considered the No. 26 overall player and the No. 1 quarterback in the 2027 class.
OSU involved with 2027 OT Qua Ford early
It’s never too early for Ohio State fans to get their hopes up about landing a standout offensive tackle, right? Well, in the early going for top-60 prospect Qua Ford, Ohio State is one of the biggest contenders for the Texas product along with Florida and Oregon according to Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman, who wrote that “no team is pushing as hard for Ford as Ohio State.”
“It’s been amazing building up that relationship with the coaches there,” Ford told Rivals. “They’ve just been keeping up with me on the football status and outside of football status — checking on the family. I’ve been talking with Coach Dickey and Coach Bowen a lot these past weeks.”
