Ohio State has landed two defensive tackles in two days.

One day after four-star defensive tackle Damari Simeon committed to the Buckeyes, three-star IMG Academy defensive tackle Cameron Brickle committed to Ohio State on Saturday.

Brickle joins Simeon and defensive end Khary Wilder as the third defensive lineman in Ohio State’s 2026 class. He’s the Buckeyes’ 19th overall commitment in the class.

The Brickle File

  • Class: 2026
  • Size: 6-2/305
  • Pos: DT
  • School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★
  • Composite Rank: #537 (#62 DL)

Penn State was the biggest challenger to OSU for Brickle, a Pennsylvania native, and he also took official visits to Maryland and Florida State this summer. In the end, however, Larry Johnson and Ohio State won Brickle’s commitment.

Johnson developed a strong relationship with Brickle throughout his recruitment, officially offering him on Oct. 16 amid a strong junior season. Brickle visited Ohio State during the first weekend of official visits, and the Buckeyes were able to maintain the momentum in his recruitment for four more weeks.

Even with the commitments of Brickle and Simeon, the Buckeyes could still add another defensive tackle or two to their 2026 class. Jamir Perez, Emanuel Ruffin and Deuce Geralds all made official visits to Ohio State earlier this month.

Prospect Rating Data: 247Sports Composite

Brickle is currently rated as a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 537 overall prospect and No. 62 defensive lineman in the 2026 class in 247Sports' composite rankings, but he received offers from most of college football’s top programs. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and USC were among more than three dozen schools that offered Brickle during his recruitment.

Brickle, who spent his freshman and junior years of high school at Malvern Prep (Pennsylvania) with a year at Rancho Santa Margarita (California) in between, will play his senior season at IMG Academy for former Ohio State offensive line coach Greg Studrawa, who became the high school powerhouse's head coach in April.

Brickle could be big 3-technique DT for Buckeyes

At 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds, Brickle is a true interior defensive lineman who is capable of playing either 3-technique or nose tackle, though he recently told 247Sports he sees him playing 3-tech in college.

"I feel like I've been playing so many schemes growing up, that's the perks of playing on different teams, so it personally doesn't matter what the scheme is going to be," Brickle said. "But the scheme I personally feel I best fit is the 4-3 scheme just because when it comes down to playing that 3-tech position, some teams run that three-man front and you are more so being that nose, that anchor, and I don't like to be that."

Brickle’s seen plenty of double-teams in prep action but has still been a dominant player in the trenches thanks to his size and athleticism. While he has the body type of a nose tackle, he has the quickness to be a big 3-technique much like Tyleik Williams was for Ohio State over the past four years. Having played everywhere from defensive end to nose tackle in high school, Brickle offers the potential to play in multiple defensive fronts if Ohio State chooses to use more three-man fronts under new defensive coordinator Matt Patricia.

Brickle profiles as a developmental prospect that will likely need some seasoning at the collegiate level, but his skill set and frame offers a ton of upside.
