Donahoo’s commitment to the Buckeyes comes one week after he made an official visit to Ohio State alongside Brown and fellow wide receiver target Blake Wong, who is also expected to announce a commitment on Saturday. BYU is viewed as the favorite to land Wong entering his announcement.
Ohio State will continue to pursue a third wide receiver to pair with Brown and Donahoo in the 2027 class. The Buckeyes’ top targets are Indiana five-star prospect Monshun Sales and four-star Texas Tech commit Benny Easter Jr., who also made official visits to Ohio State this summer.
Donahoo is the second player in two days to commit to Ohio State’s 2027 class, joining four-star offensive lineman Caden Moss. He’s the second wide receiver to commit to Ohio State since Cortez Hankton’s arrival as wide receivers coach, joining 2029 prospect Austin Miller, who committed to the Buckeyes on Monday.
Ranked as the No. 150 wide receiver and No. 1,202 overall prospect, Donahoo originally planned to pick from a final three of Cincinnati, Georgia Tech and Minnesota before receiving an offer from Ohio State on May 23. Now, just over one month later, Donahoo is committed to the Buckeyes.
Donahoo caught 34 passes for 627 yards and five touchdowns as a junior in 2025 after catching 34 passes for 701 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore.
Donahoo, who has an 80-inch wingspan with 10 1/2-inch hands, also plays basketball at Oviedo and previously ran track and field, clocking a 12.68-second 100-meter dash as a freshman.
