I have been watching football for 47 years and never saw or heard of a spy camera on the first down pylon, especially with a laser to help all of us simpletons and the refs determine a huge play in a playoff game. Is it just me, or don't they have to vote in new rules and changes to the existing rulebook at a one time meeting during the offseason and those rules are locked in until the next year when the powers that be have their luxury vacation once again...

Does anyone recall this camera and laser pointer being used in a game this season or did they just think man, this will add something nifty to the playoffs and people will love it...

This is like giving a defense attorney tools that have never been seen in court before and allowing them to create their own narrative visually, that will fool the jury and swing their votes to not guilty when there was 2 eye witnesses to the crime.
