What the hell is up with these people? Why do they do it? Ohio State is a juggernaut football program so you'd think frontrunning's the easy choice even for people who don't necessarily love the Buckeyes.

I know a guy whose Mom went to UM. I get that -- family stuff, tradition, whatever you want to call it. But I also know a guy whose Dad went to UM (grad school too) who freaking hates Michigan as much as anyone here so it's not a condition that can't be outgrown.

For real, what in hell motivates these people who live, breathe, work, play, raise families etc in our great state who insist on rooting for that awful, rapidly declining mess up north?

Any ideas?
