The Eleven Dubcast doesn't work without you.

Really, Beau and I can talk and pontificate all we want, but the truth is the best part of our show is knowing people genuinely want to hear our hottest of sports takes, and they want to add their input by maybe Asking Us Anything.

I've been doing the Eleven Dubcast for an eternity in internet years, and I think that I can honestly say that 2017 was probably the most exciting in terms of guests, listenership, and hell, even sponsorships(!) that we've ever had. And it's all thanks to you guys, so if you'd like to relive some of the best moments from the past year, here are some prime cut podcasts from 2017.

SCOONIE PENN THE BASED GOD

This is a fun one. Scoonie Penn is a lightning rod, and I mean that in the best possible way. Beau and I were able to grab him in his pre-Holtmann days to talk about the state of the basketball team in what would become Thad Matta's final season, and man does this interview seem awfully relevant now that Penn is on Holtmann's staff.

MO C IS THE WAY TO BE

We've had Maurice Clarett on the Dubcast several times now, and every time we have him he's up to something amazing. This interview from March saw him getting ready to help the kids of Youngstown with a bike drive, which ended up being pretty damn successful.

ENTER HOLTMANN

Probably the most important hire of Gene Smith's tenure was buoyed by the fact that Chris Holtmann is a damn good coach who knows what he's doing. I mean, I can say that now, in the middle of December, because it's easy. But in June, well...

EVAN SPENCER INTRODUCES US TO 2017

Evan Spencer is probably the smartest dude alive, and his thoughts and predictions about how the football team would perform in 2017 are definitely worth listening to.

GONZO!

Anthony Gonzalez is another incredibly smart guy, and while he's got higher aspirations than shooting the breeze on the Eleven Dubcast, that's pretty much just what he did. It was a lot of fun talking to a guy who is still pretty clearly so invested in Buckeye football.

PRETTY, PRETTY, PRRREETTTT-AAAYYY GOOD

Richard Lewis talked to us for so long that I had to cut the interview basically in half to fit it in the Dubcast, and then just published the whole unedited thing as a separate piece to run alongside it. Richard Lewis' story of how he came to Ohio State is great, as is his tale of how Larry David forced him to leave the Rose Bowl against Arizona State before the end of the game.

O CANADA

DeVier Posey is playing in the Canadian Football League, and it's entirely probable that the Dubcast magic rubbed off on him because later he'd go on to be the Grey Cup MVP and catch the longest touchdown pass in the history of the game.

HERBIE'S HARD HAT

Kirk Herbstreit is one of the most passionate people about college football you're ever going to meet. We've had him on the Dubcast a few times now, and whatever your opinion of the guy, it is undeniable that he absolutely loves the game. That shines through in this interview.

TOM RYAN'S LAW OF ATTRACTION

This is probably my favorite Dubcast of the year. We had never had a sitting coach at Ohio State join the Dubcast before, and certainly not one with the stature of a Tom Ryan. His intensity and devotion to both his team and his sport is a little awe-inspiring, and I really hope that we can have him on again sometime as the wrestling season progresses. He's a really interesting guy in a fascinating sport.

GRAHAM RAHAL IS A BRO

He just is, man. This guy is one of the most important open-wheel drivers in the world, worth a bajillion dollars, but he's happy to sit down and talk about the Buckeyes for as long as you need. A legitimately cool guy and one of my favorite guests we've had.

SHEMY

Bo Schembechler's progeny, right before The Game. 'Nuff said.

Thanks to Beau for being such an awesome co-host, thanks to Jason for being so invaluable in getting guests this year, but mostly, thank you for listening. Every one of you guys helps make this podcast as great as it is, and we look forward to killing it again in 2018.
