Alex/Miles/Derek/Staff Do you think the staff is waiting to see how this visit with Watson turns out during this visit before sending out the other 2014 QB offers. It seems like they have continued to push those offers other than to Watson. It makes it seem like Watson is their top choice and they want to see where the stand with him first.
I think the visit with Watson is really important. It will be his first time visiting Ohio State so he will get to see everything and the staff can really see up close what their chances are. Actions speak louder than words, so the fact that he is visiting on his own dime in February (when it's not exactly warm in Columbus) is telling that he's serious about OSU.
I think if Chad Morris (Clemson OC) gets a HC job next year, it's all but certain Watson is gone, JMHO. I also think he knows Urban Meyer is a great fit for him and that intrigues him.

He may come out liking OSU as much as Clemson and that could cause him to "de-commit" from CU, but who knows.
If Morris leaves Watson doesn't stick with the Tigers IMO. But I think we'll need a decision from him before we know that and I don't think he wants to wait that long.
If Morris doesn't leave for a gig until mid Dec, what do we do if we already have Barker in the fold and Watson is back on the market?

Feb. 8-10 weekend is loaded. Plus, it is after NSD so the staff will know the exact needs of the 2014 class. Would be surprised if we don't land at least 1 commit that weekend.
OSU has a legit shot at landing most of the guys visiting on Feb. 8-10. I would say the only one not as high on the radar is the RB Hilliman.
Getting Watson would be amazing! This staff really gets it.. I remember Pryor, and then some guys who throw arm punts.. (Just kidding Kenny G, if you are reading this..) I still cannot believe Meyer had Tebow and Cam Newton at the same time!

When does the staff start letting the 2014 skill players commit? I understand they're probably asking them to hold off until the 2013 class finishes out, but would like to see some studs, particularly WR's start committing to OSU.
If we can get Watson, there will be an avalanche of commits, IMO. He is a real game changer in terms of recruiting. That said, he keeps publicly reaffirming his commitment to Clemson in no uncertain terms. I do hope his visit to C-bus changes his mind.

With all of the insanity going around is there a chance that we offer Timmons?
The way it's looking, Timmons only gets an offer if we miss on Wilson, Smith, Priester, the Robinson twins, Clark, and Elder. I'd like to see him as a Buckeye, but it's not shaping out that way.
As crazy as it sounds I hear there is still talks.
At this point I'd be disappointed if UK doesnt end up with him as he means soooo much to UK, much more than Quick ever did. He does not mean much to the Buckeyes so I say go where you are wanted.
I'm surprised he's still interested in OSU the way his recruitment has been drawn it. He could go to UK and start 4 straight years. I'd still love to have him as a Buckeye tho.

Is it logical that the staff could pick up three more linebackers in next years class? Adding three to the five we picked up last year, with the limited schollys and no senior linebackers makes it seem to conflict with the amount of space and needs elsewhere.
Then again, how do you say no to any of the three?
We have no seniors but Shazier will be draft eligible after this year and we may see him think hard about the NFL. Gotta be prepared for all possibilities.

I read on Rivals yesterday that he is still up in the air. Clemson is fighting real hard to keep him from making the visit, but part of him wants to check out what Urban Meyer and Ohio State has to offer. Either way this is a make or break weekend for OSU and Deshaun Watson IMO.
I completely agree... If Watson doesn't come up this weekend I think the staff needs to turn to Barker or Ulmer. I believe Alex listed those as the next 2 in line.
BTW... What's the over/under on commits this weekend?
Personally I'd prefer Barker but I'd still be psyched with Ulmer. But with how much speed we have, we don't necessarily need a 4.3 guy at QB. I'd rather have someone who can spread it around to the speed guys and take off if he has to.
Also, let's not take JT Barrett for granted, kid is a baller.

I'd rather have Barker too... I'd take a 4.5-4.6 who can run the read option really well and throw the ball before a 4.3-4.4 guy. Barker's film looks really good. I'm not counting out Barrett, but I believe we need to make a move to get back into Barker's good graces before he ends up committing to USCe. I think he is a kid that will stick once he commits.
If Watson actually comes up this weekend, we will know what direction the staff is going to head concerning the QB situation.
I'll put the over/under at 1.5. It's still early in the 14 game, but I think some guys have been told to hold off until after the 13 class finished. I'll take the OVER on the 1.5 by the way.

I know there's a long way to go but it'd be pretty telling either way once we know what his plans are. So I agree with you, that this is a BIG weekend. If he doesn't make it up here, wouldn't be surprised to see OSU offer Barker soon after. Just a guess though.

He had a basketball game friday night which would have seriously cut down his time to be on campus and get back for school on Monday. Willing to bet he will be on campus this spring may be when Kitt comes back or when Chubb visits in the spring.
I guess we have to keep in mind that the recruits families have to pay for the unofficial visit so there may be a number of factors why he couldn't make it.
Sounds like T. Snodgrass is heading to Cbus to join the recruits for dinner tonight. At least, according to the twitter-sphere.

If Lonnie Johnson doesn't commit this weekend then I'd be willing to guess that his offer is non-commitable at the moment. JMO.
