esss eeee seeee!
Tomorrow
Let's fill it with a good opponent then
Oh wait, we can't we have less than a year's notice. Thanks Vandy!
I saw another tweet from Rittenberg saying, "Stay classy, Vandy."
I wonder how many teams will bail on their opponents to play tOSU.
this is some bullshit...less than a year notice to schedule a football game? eff that
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
Well that's crap. Hell with it, have Urban call up Muschamp and let's get it on!
I know there's a game saturday, and my ass will be there.
Pretty sure this was expected. Vandy wanted to open their season on a Thursday night.
Eff the SEC.
joke
ESSS EEEE CEEE SKURRED
Tomorrow
Thats some Bull Shit.
Vanderbilt fears the B1G. Scared of ruining the "SEC is awesome, B1G sucks" perception.
Class of 2010.
Blame Northwestern for this; they had to go and beat Vandy this year.
So in all seriousness, will they be able to get a good team to replace or will they have to play a a team like UMass or McNeese St.?
Getting a good team with the game being less than a year away would be very hard. It'll probably just be some MAC school IMO.
"Do not pray for an easy life. Rather, pray for the the strength to endure a difficult one" - Bruce Lee
Great, just what they're trying to eliminate having to play MAC teams
This really sucks, now our schedule is going to be even weaker than it already was
Doug Lesmerises@PDBuckeyes
"Contract says if Ohio State couldn't find a replacement, Vandy would be on the hook for lost revenue. Otherwise, no penalty."

How about Appy St? Before the game, Coach Meyer could send hoke a letter and say, take notes for next year, they have your number!
bummer
O H I O is the Buckeye State
we will end up playing Tulane. They have that first game open too lol.
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
U.S. Mail? what hapened to the ESSSS EEEE SEEEE speed?

SEC didn't want ther first game of the next season having OSU beat down Vandy. I checked out some teams with openings that day and room for one more game. The best ones I could find that were in a BCS conference are Oklahoma, Stanford, BYU, Arizona State, West Virginia, Virginia, NC State, Kansas, Duke. Although I doubt we'd schedule any of these at this point but never know
Last night Mark May gave Flordia huge offensive power points for beating a powerhouse SEC defense, Vandy.

Hopefully we can schedule WVU, I have always been baffled about why we dont try to play them more often since they are a close road game (for a home and home series) and are usually a ranked team.
“There are some people addicted to alcohol, some people are addicted to gambling,” Luginbill said. “Urban Meyer is addicted to football, and he’s addicted to winning.”
My Freshman year at App State was the first of their three consecutive National Championships. When ASU beat scUM, we still went to the field and tore down the goal posts and threw them in the Chancellor's front yard. Anyways, I believe App State would be up to the challenge, but they already play Georgia this year, and I really doubt they want to start 0-2 regardless of the opponent. A future game should definitely be considered, although it doesn't help the SOS by any means.
NC Buckeye.
I was disappointed when I heard the news of this. I live 25 minutes from Nashville and had every intention of making the trip to Columbus next year to see them drill Vandy. I'd love to talk trash to my friends here in town who are Vandy fans and SEC homers. I hope we pick up somebody decent to play.
The only thing more epic would have been a Post-It Note.
Why not pay another school (e.g., Pitt) to cancel their game and play the inaugural Ohio State Kickoff Classic?
Out of that list I would also like to see the Bucks play WVU. The polls do seem to like them
O H I O is the Buckeye State
I hope we play Pitt... Love to see Mark May when we crush them.
So the SEC moves the Ole Miss game up to replace Ohio State and then Vandy schedules Austen Peay and Umass. Guess the SEC needs those huge OOC wins to inflate the "Look how great they are" numbers when the media blows them.

Funny hearing Mark May mention OSU prior to the Oregon-ASU game . He said Meyer is taking the program to a level above the other B1G teams with his recruiting and such and they will have to keep up or be left behind. He also said OSU was just a few pieces of the puzzle from being elite. About fell right out of the lazy boy.
He also said we deserved half a loss for letting Indiana put up 49...
When Mark May starts talking positive about OSU ... something is either going right or very, very wrong.

I imagine if we got one of the teams mentioned above we could do a home and home with the second game 5-7 years out. Smith talked about scheduling good teams, lets get some.
The last couple years have been tough without a legit power on the OOC schedule. Miami was full of good intentions but didn't play out. I will say the Nebraska game this year felt like an OOC game.
4Dorr: Loveed that pic!
As for this Vandy stuff above, I'm pissed bc now OSU's record will still be Bagel (0)-whatever it is against SEC...10 or 11 oses or some s@#t.

So, David Dawson decommits from Michigan and still visits for the Game? That takes some chutzpah. If we could get him to commit there (not likely, just sayin'), we could skip on Dorian Johnson. I know Dawson is a true guard and Johnson a tackle prospect, but I think we could make it work with what they've done with O-line this year. Dawson is nasty and was the best O-line prospect in that Michigan class IMO.
Gene Smith said it will not be a BCS opponent so there you go. It will be another joke game, but it is what it is. Just another reason to hate the SEC - not that we need much motivation.
I read somewhere today that West Virginia also has that date open on their schedule. Somebody make it happen!!
Yes there are two Buckeyes in Ann arbor on this site!
I say schedule West Virginia or Oklahoma if possible since they're open. I know we play Oklahoma in a few years, but still. I wouldn't mind seeing us beat up on them a little bit SOONER. <-- Oklahoma joke
It's 5 o'clock somewhere, & Michigan still sucks
buckeye76BHop - We suck against that conference in the bowl games but 21-13-3 all time againsts the mighty SEC.

"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
Our SOS next year is going to be terrible. Most likely two MAC or FCS teams and Cal in the nonconference plus we don't play Nebraska or Michigan St. in conference. We might not end up in the top two in the BSC even if undefeated.
We should schedule Appy State!
"You win with people." - Woody Hayes
I like the tradition of playing one big non-conference game a year. Sounds like we won't have that again next year. Not that this news really changes that, though. I also liked Pat Fitzgerald's response (because Vandy pulled out of the NW game as well). He said, "I think it just shows where our program is heading in comparison to theirs."
