Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s will soon be one-handing balls with a while wearing a little extra shine.
The former Ohio State wide receiver will wear a gold NFL shield on his Seattle Seahawks jersey this season after winning NFL Offensive Player of the Year last year.
Seattle shared a close-up look at Smith-Njigba’s new uniform detail, with the standard NFL shield on the collar replaced by a gold version recognizing his place among the league's Mount Rushmore (+1) from last season.

The NFL introduced the gold shield program last season, giving the honor to the winners of five major Associated Press awards: MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive Rookie of the Year and Defensive Rookie of the Year.
For Ohio State fans, it is another reminder of how quickly Smith-Njigba has become one of the NFL’s premier offensive players. And, honestly, it looks pretty darn cool.
