Totally classless. They could've come out and practice snaps and kick motions on the concrete, instead they went right next to the band on the south end and nearby on the north end.
There is a guy on youtube, "Mbandfan2" who post the script ohio videos if you are looking for it. I'm assuming he went to the game tonight if you want to see what happened.
Ohio State's band SLAUGHTERED Michigan's band. If this were a football game, it would have been Florida State vs. Savannah State. - SB Nation following OSU vs. UM 2012
I took a video from the north student section but it starts with Script Ohio half over because I wasn't originally going to record it. I only started right after the Nebraska players came onto the field so the boos were already in full effect. I'll have to upload it tomorrow.
Were the kickers just confused and going out to warm-up at the worst time possible? Or were they purposely trying to impede Script Ohio?
I can forgive an honest mistake, seeing as they're playing away in an unfamiliar environment. If it was the latter though, I'm sad we didn't break 70 then.
They must not love their marching band in Lincoln as much as we do in Columbus. But how does anyone with a clue abou cfb not know about in tradition of Script Ohio?
Clearly dude was more afraid of Bo than of the ridicule of 100k. Simulated a good Pressure situation, I guess. Dum@ss.
Being that Pelini is a former Buckeye himself, I'm sure he knows the tradition of script Ohio. Whether or not this was intentional we may never know. I find it hard to believe that visiting teams are not given a minute by minute schedule of pre-game activities. If this was a mistake by an assistant coach, I'm sure Pelini had a come-to-Jesus meeting concerning adding fuel to fire. If Pelini planned this, shame on you Bo, very bush league indeed.
I was wondering whether the broadcasters would comment on this during the game. I guess they didn't (since a lot of you didn't seem to know about it). I was also hoping a reporter would ask Bo Pelini (or Urban) about it after the game. Did it come up in either press conference?
Yeah, this really pissed me off, too. All day long I had been trying to be nice to all the Nebraska fans I encountered. But after I saw their kickers f***ing up our Script Ohio, I was done being nice! FWIW, I realize that it's not the fans' fault for the players' and coaches' actions, but I just wasn't in a nice mood any more.
Did halftime last longer than normal? Normally script is before the game. I wonder if this was just a communication error? Even still, the players should have waited once they realized it.
Second half roughing the kicker penalty would've been worth it after that. Nothing dangerous but a solid late hit to send a message. Maybe after Nebraska's 4th quarter touchdown when we were up 3 scores with 6 minutes left.
Yes, they did do it on purpose - the players not the coaches. Watch the video. They came out after the band was well into script. It was every bit as intentional as the OU mascot tackling Brutus. I actually found it a little amusing but stupid. And they were moved by stadium staff. The Nebraska team was well aware of half time activities - they are given a complete schedule with detailed instructions of when they can be on the field. I would imagine the kickers will be in a little hot water with Bo.
I can't believe Bo had knowledge or gave instructions to do this. Bush league antics. I wish that somebody would have "smoked" their kicker the next time they kicked off. What goes around....

Considering that Pelini was on the team during Cooper's first year, he knew very well not to screw with script ohio and the band. That first home game, Cooper had his kickers practice during the band's halftime performance. The uproar was tremendous and Coop never made that mistake again. It definitely got his tenure off on the wrong foot, so to speak.
I could not imagine that Pelini had anything to do with the kickers doing this last night.
i'm sure Bo Bulimia was responsible for those kids doing this, he was a buckeye and wanted to declare war by doing it. 10/6/2012 will go down as the day the cornholers opened up a can seriously large can of worms.
Good player's make the play's they're suppose to, great player's make the play's they're NOT !!!
I was kinda hoping to see/hear what would happen if they had to come out for a FG attempt in the second half. Too bad our offense hated all over that...
Is there a video of this up yet?
I would have taken a video but I was too busy booing
They must be either idiots or classless. Maybe they wanted to dot the I?
Doesn't matter, they still lost.
Their fans were telling us to calm down. I was going nuts.
Their fans were great other than that. Made me want to yell rtfho after the next kick.
Totally classless. They could've come out and practice snaps and kick motions on the concrete, instead they went right next to the band on the south end and nearby on the north end.
Did Urban see it? Should have dropped 70 on them for that!
No, that was my big issue with it! Neither of the teams were out yet, it was just Nebraska's 2 kickers
Pretty good way to get your butt kicked!

This is why I have no problem with our final TD.

Well everyone was booing and they still wouldn't move, so I think they knew what they were doing
Didn't this exact same thing happen during the '08 Michigan game?

video's on youtube. Nebraska Players Walk onto Field during Script Ohio, sorry don't know how to copy/paste from ipad.
Looks to me like there wasn't bad intent given that an asst came out to move their stuff, but thats just my opinion. Looks like they're just clueless.

Yeah that's disrespectful. Our home field, our band, our tradition, our homecoming.

It would've been nice to see Brutus run out and start giving those guys a beat down.

I don't think Pelini had any idea this happened... I don't think we should blame him.

Script Ohio was at halftime because they did all the Homecoming stuff before the game.
Real fans stay for Carmen.
Oh my God! I say that to myself all the time!

Is this thread serious?
No, they didn't do it on purpose.
Yes, they should have evac'ed when the saw the band heading in their direction.
No, you don't have to cry about it.

Wow...Putzlini played for OSU. He knows that crap isn't kosher. I'm seriously pissed about this.

I was so f****** pissed at this. Whether they knew it or not, or meant offense or not, I don't care.
That tuba player has played in the band for four years, waiting for his chance to dot the "i". That was his moment, and they ruined it. F*** Nebraska.
I was kinda hoping to see/hear what would happen if they had to come out for a FG attempt in the second half. Too bad our offense hated all over that...
