Due to injury and probably the depth chart, he's been granted release from his scholarship. He's gone, so add another scholarship. Unfortunate, but he's free to transfer whereever. Good guy, I've met him, I hope he does well whereever he goes!

Damn I had high expectations for him out of high school best of luck to him!
Seems like a good kid, I know he suffered from headaches and felt like he missed a lot of spring development time. Tough to bounce back from an issue like that, and this is probably the worst team to catch up on, since the DL competition will likely be really tough for the younger guys.

If they extend the class after this, I'd rather see a WR get taken. Like if Gibson gets shut out by commitments from Quick and another WR, I'd like to see him get a spot.
This may hurt getting Nigel Hayes on the basketball squad
I don't know, Kenny seemed excited about Nigel's offer. It would appear he doesn't have reason to dislike the school, and the odds that he transfers to a better basketball school than OSU aren't great. Also OSU is one of the top offers on Nigel's list right now at least.
Nigel is flying under the radar right now, he has offers from Minnesota and Wisconsin for basketball as of now. This kid is really talented, still a whole year left, I see more offers going out to Nigel.
Yeah, but they're Ohio kids, and assuming Kenny and OSU aren't at odds, chances are good that Nigel is a fan.
But they're from Toledo, which could mean Kenny might consider UM. I hope he knows better
This should add one spot for the 2013 class. I don't think we re-open to Green, but anything can happen. He seemed understanding about the situation ("moving in a different direction"), but that situation has changed now.
Are we sure that the staff didn't know about this around the time or even before they went the "different direction" with Green

The Hayes boys are OSU fans no doubt. But Kenny feels like he isn't gonna see the field with all this talent Meyer brought in, I don't blame him, but we will see what happens with Kenny. As far as Nigel goes, I just don't feel as confident as I was 10 minutes ago, Kenny and Nigel are real close. I always see them two supporting each other. I went to the Final Four in HS Basketball last year in the Schott, Kenny Hayes was sitting right in front of me, glad we got to catch up, but I don't know, maybe it's time Little Brother goes his own way? We'll see, I hope Nigel commits to OSU though, he just very talented.

This may change things with his brother. Are we sure that Kenny wants to transfer? If he's simply asking for a release from his athletic obligation, he would likely stay at the school, right? That may mean he can't afford to pay his own way, in which case, I would think Nigel would favor OSU the same amount.
Interesting, well Nigel is still sitting pretty with OSU then. I really wanted to see Kenny from my alma mater make it at OSU though.

I feel bad for him.....hope he can recover...migraines suck....had them 10-12 years ago...then last year....then last couple weeks....my were bad enough my face, and hands went numb...felt terrible....they really suck.
It opens up a scholly for any year past 2012. Since it was past August 1 I don't believe we can give it to anyone this year but it's an open scholly for 2013
