JJ Sullinger (Jared's brother) on Jared returning or not:

When asked if Jared Sullinger was returning for his Sophomore season or not, brother J.J. responded:

"I'll say this, I'll be going to a lot of OSU games next year."

This is good news. Now if I recall his father has said Jared is returning, his brother J.J. has now said he is returning, and Jared himself has said he is returning. What do you guys think? Are we seeing Sully at Ohio State next year or not?

I also read somewhere that William Buford was quoted as saying he is "probably returning for his senior season." I couldn't find a link for you guys though.

I definitely think both will be back. I don't have any legit inside info but I'll bet Sully is at 99% and Buford is at 90% certain.

Both of them returning is a scary thought for other schools to think, especially within the Big Ten.

In a year where there a supposedly no great teams, flip the page to next year and there will be several.  If Sully and Bufford return Ohio State will be nasty.  UK is going to definitely be great, at worst they'll get Lamb, Miller, and Liggins back with a HUGE recruiting class.  Louisville will be pretty damn good too.  They'll lose Knowles but Buckles and Swampshire will be healthy, everyone else is back, and a great recruiting class.  Those are the 3 that really stand out to me, then you have other teams with great potential like Michigan.  I hate to say it but the future is bright for basketball in Ann Arbor.

my gut feeling puts Bufford's return at about 30% and Sullinger about 50%.

I just realized that if Buford comes back and scores 500 points (he's topped that in each of the last two seasons), he'll be among the top five scorers in Ohio State history. That's some serious company up there (Hopson, Williams, Lucas, Ransey). He'd have a decent shot at catching Hopson for first with a big year.

Buford is one of the more underrated players in Ohio State history IMO.

I would agree, but it's easy to be overlooked when your 2 best years happened to fall when Evan Turner and Jared Sullinger asserted themselves as a couple of the best players in America.  That why, until recently, I thought it was crazy for Bufford to go early.  People outside of Columbus and Gus Johnson, just don't even know about the guy.

Last night I was talking to a pretty educated college basketball fan and he said, if Kentucky can shut down Diebler then you take your chances letting Sullinger go off.  I said yeah but you are totally overlooking Bufford who honestly, all around could be the best player on the team!!!!!  If it weren't for Sully, he could be this years Evan Turner.

Buford is so overlooked that OSU fans still spell his name with an extra f in it!

I would say that alot of these players are overlooked. Not saying they don't get their praise at times, but this team has proven to have a "ring around the rosie," ability with contributors. One of the best aspects I can think of with this team. They rise to a challenge & compensate for anyone having a off night. It is a great thing to witness.

I think Sully and Buford will be back if the Buckeyes don't win the real national championship. If they win it all, it's a crapshoot. Crappy trade-off, huh?

I guess, but honestly I'd take a title and players jetting for the NBA afterward over no title at all.  To much can go wrong throughout a season so if this team comes up short and the guys come back, it's going to be awfully tough to replicate this years success.  I think we can have the best of both worlds, but I may be naive lol.

I actually kind of like that trade-off, hahah.

Winning it all this year would be fantastic, but Willie B and Sully might like to see if they can do it again next year.  Success only makes you want more, I'm just sayin'.

The scouting report I read on Buford wasn't that high, they say he needs to be more assertive and get the line more as well as add some bulk. But those are nitpick to me since he isn't being asked to do that for this team.
