Columbus Aviators head coach and former Ohio State wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated just one day before his Aviators play their third game of the season.

According to The Columbus Dispatch, Ginn’s arrest came in Tarrant County, Texas, at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday morning, after he was pulled over for traffic violations and underwent a DWI investigation by the Euless Police Department. He later posted a $1,000 bond and was released.

Ginn played at Ohio State from 2004 through 2006 before enjoying a 14-year NFL career with the Dolphins, 49ers, Panthers, Cardinals, Saints and Bears. He took the reins as the first head coach of the Columbus Aviators for the organization’s inaugural season in 2026, but had gone winless in his first two games at the helm of the team.

Following Ginn’s arrest, Aviators offensive coordinator Todd Haley will serve as interim head coach for Columbus’ Sunday tilt against the Dallas Renegades. The Aviators and Renegades will kick off at noon on ABC on Sunday.
