This was a huge, huge, huuuugggeee week with two very large items of note for us to ruminate on in the Eleven Dubcast today.

First, the national championship was, alternately, boring and exciting and controversial and kind of a chore to watch, but ultimately ended up being a coronation of Nick Saban as probably the greatest college football coach to ever live. That's extremely annoying to admit, but Beau and I contextualize his success with what Urban Meyer has been able to accomplish.

Second, and way more fun to talk about, was Ohio State absolutely creaming then top-ranked Michigan State at home. Keita Bates-Diop is the absolute truth, and while Thad Matta certainly deserves some credit for putting the majority of this team together, it's really Chris Holtmann who was put them in a position to be this good. The NCAA Tournament isn't just a hope anymore, it's an expectation.

Finally, the amazing Joshua Perry joins us to talk about the above and also an issue very near and dear to his heart: amateurism in college sports. This is a great conversation with a really insightful and thoughtful person, and while you may not agree with everything he has to say, it's hard to deny the conviction with which he believes it.

0:00 I hate saying that Nick Saban rules. I absolutely hate it. But he does. If Ohio State wants to be the team to knock him off his pedestal, they have work to do.

18:35 SPARTY DOWN! SPARTY DOWN! How much of this is momentum and how much of this is Ohio State being actually pretty damn good (if thin) is up for debate. So we do!

27:08 Joshua Perry is going to go on to do some really awesome things with his life after football, but for now we've got him to talk about the championship, amateurism, and a foundation that he's starting.

49:05 Ask Us Anything wants to know about our nicknames. I have had some dumb ones.

That's the Dubcast this week! Thanks for checking out our Dry Goods Store and tuning in, thanks to Travis for our logo, and we'll see you all next time!
