The New York Jets pulled out all the stops to honor Nick Mangold on Sunday.

In the Jets’ first home game since Mangold’s tragic death due to kidney disease, MetLife Stadium was filled with tributes to the Jets and Ohio State great. The Jets placed flags and banners around the stadium before the game featuring pictures of Mangold and his jersey number, 74.

Jets players and coaches wore T-shirts during warmups that featured an illustration of Mangold on the front with the words “A True Jet” and the number 74 on the back. The Jets also wore decals with a picture of Mangold’s face on their helmets.

The Jets also gave Mangold T-shirts to fans attending the game.

Before Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns, the Jets held a moment of silence for Mangold and played a video tribute to their former center, who played for the Jets from 2006-16 and made seven Pro Bowls. Former Jets teammate D’Brickashaw Ferguson spoke to the crowd about his former teammate.

Mangold’s wife, Jennifer, and their four children served as honorary captains for the pregame coin toss.

Former Ohio State and current Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert paid his own tribute to the Jet and Buckeye legend by wearing Mangold’s Ohio State jersey for his arrival at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Fittingly, the Jets scored a 74-yard touchdown on a first-quarter punt return by Isiaah Williams on their way to a 27-20 win over the Browns.

Ohio State also paid tribute to Mangold at its first home game following his death. Before last weekend’s game against Penn State, Ohio State held a moment of silence for Mangold and fellow former OSU center Bob Maggs, who died two days before Mangold.

Mangold’s high school alma mater, Archbishop Alter, paid tribute to Mangold with a pregame moment of silence and decals on their helmets before their final home game of the season.
