Ohio State will play its third home night game of the season against UCLA.

The Big Ten announced Monday that Ohio State’s Nov. 15 home game vs. UCLA will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and will be televised by NBC.

Ohio State’s third and fourth home games of the season against Ohio (7 p.m., Peacock) and Minnesota (7:30 p.m., NBC) were also night games. As such, Ohio State will play three home night games in a season for just the third time ever. It’s the first time since 2022 for Ohio State to play three home night games in a year.

Historically, Ohio State opposed playing regular-season night games after the first weekend of November. After Ohio State agreed to host a night game against Michigan State on the second weekend of November in 2023, athletic director Gene Smith told Eleven Warriors that Ohio State would not agree to do that again.

New Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork, however, has made a push for more home night games since succeeding Smith last year. And last year’s home College Football Playoff game against Tennessee in December proved that the Shoe can still be an electric night-game environment in colder weather. As such, Ohio State has opened the door to playing November night games again, and Buckeye fans will get another chance to watch their team play under the lights at Ohio Stadium this season.

Next week’s game between Ohio State and UCLA will be the first meeting between the teams since UCLA joined the Big Ten last year. The two schools last played each other in 2001, when UCLA won a 13-6 game in Pasadena. Ohio State last hosted UCLA in 1999, earning a 42-20 win over the Bruins at the Shoe. The teams have played each other nine times total, with the all-time series knotted at 4-4-1.

Before UCLA comes to the Shoe, the Bruins host Nebraska this Saturday (9 p.m., FOX). Ohio State travels to West Lafayette, Indiana, to play Purdue on Saturday (1 p.m., Big Ten Network) before returning home to face Nico Iamaleava – who was Tennessee’s quarterback for Ohio State’s 42-17 win at the Shoe last December – in a night game for the second time in two years.
