Bing, who had been committed to Maryland since August 2024, received an Ohio State offer in September and took an official visit to Columbus for the Buckeyes’ 42-3 win over Minnesota on Oct. 4. The following week, Bing decommitted from the Terrapins, and the Buckeyes positioned themselves as assumed frontrunners in his recruitment. Those assumptions proved correct, as Bing became Ohio State’s 22nd commitment in the 2026 class.
Bing is the second player to commit to Ohio State in two days, joining offensive tackle Landry Brede, who flipped his commitment from N.C. State to Ohio State on Monday.
While Bing is the No. 914 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite, the Washington, D.C., native told 247Sports in September that several teams view him as the best free safety in the 2026 class. Bing also said Ohio State was among a handful of new schools to pursue him in September. He also received offers from Alabama — where his St. Frances Academy teammate, Jireh Edwards, committed in July — and Indiana, and had scheduled official visits to both schools in November. But Bing decided he saw enough in Columbus to commit to the Buckeyes before making those other visits.

With his pledge, Bing becomes the third safety commitment in Ohio State’s 2026 class, joining five-star prospect Blaine Bradford and top-100 prospect Simeon Caldwell.
At 6-foot, 190 pounds, Bing has played both free safety and nickel cornerback for St. Frances Academy. He has a solid frame, comparable to that of current Ohio State free safety Jaylen McClain (6-foot, 201 pounds) and nickel cornerback Lorenzo Styles Jr. (6-foot-1, 195 pounds) and could easily develop to their size with time in Mickey Marotti’s strength and conditioning program.
Bing has proven playmaking ability at the high school level, collecting a pick-six in St. Frances’ 42-13 win over Chaminade-Madonna Prep and fellow Buckeye safety commit Angelo Smith in the Panthers’ season opener. His Hudl tape also shows him recording a mix of pass breakups, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries throughout his career.
