Bing had been committed to Maryland since August 2024, but quickly scheduled an official visit to Ohio State after receiving an offer from the Buckeyes last month. His decision to back off of his Maryland commitment so quickly after his visit to Ohio State suggests the Buckeyes put themselves in a great position to win his recruitment.
“Ohio State definitely made a big move with this visit,” Bing told 247Sports on Sunday. “The love they showed and the opportunities there really opened my eyes. They're, for sure, one of the schools standing out to me now.“
While Bing is ranked as just the No. 914 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2026 class, the Washington, D.C. resident told 247Sports that several teams have told him they view him as the best free safety in the country. In addition to Ohio State, Bing has also recently received offers from Alabama and Indiana, and he is scheduled to make official visits to both of those schools in November.
Bing is a senior at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, where he’s part of a secondary that also includes five-star safety Jireh Edwards, an Alabama commit.
If Ohio State wins Bing’s recruitment, it would add him to a safety class that includes five-star prospect Blaine Bradford and fellow top-100 national prospect Simeon Caldwell.
